No surprise here.
Where does he go now?

Associated Press
Greg Robinson could not return the Orange to its winning tradition.
Athletic director Daryl Gross issued a statement Sunday afternoon announcing his decision, which has been considered a mere formality for more than a month.

"I have made the decision to move our football program in a new direction and have informed Greg Robinson that his tenure as Syracuse's head coach will end at the conclusion of this season," Gross said. "Coach Robinson worked very hard to try to establish a winning program, one that could eventually compete for the conference championship on a regular basis. Unfortunately, the progress we expected to see has not occurred."

Syracuse is 2-8 with two games remaining in the season after losing 39-14 at Connecticut Saturday.

Robinson led the Orange to just seven wins from 2005-07, which led Gross to openly discuss his intentions to make a change in 2008 if the results on the field didn't improve measurably.

"The timing of this announcement allows us to end rumor and speculation and provides us ample time to hire a head coach who has shown the capability to produce a winning football program that the Syracuse nation can be proud of. That process will begin immediately and will remain confidential until a selection is made," Gross said.

The Orange close the year with road games at Notre Dame and Cincinnati.

What's sad is the Grob is the best defensive coordinator we'd have this decade.

Might as well bring him in for a look, maybe he can teach Gunther and Herm how to hold his rope in the shower... He has to have something left in the tank...

Whose program will he wreck next?

Probably some Tulsa high school that turns out grads with third grade reading levels.

After Robinson's departure, boosters search the rubble of Syracuse's football program for survivors.

im kind of surprised he didn't get fired at the end of last season. Also I wouldn't be surprised if Lane Kiffin ends up being the next head coach. The Syracuse AD used to be at USC....
