first 11 games they have 6 sacks

the league record for lowest team sacks in a season is [/edit] 13 by the Baltimore colts in 1981

so they have 5 games to get more than they have all year or they set another record for sack futility.

can they get 7 sacks in 5 games?

How does a team get half a sack?

You have to trade one of the guys during the play.

On the NFL: Chiefs sad sacks minus Allen

Kansas City, which traded Jared Allen, is approaching the NFL record for fewest sacks.

Hmm. . .yeah, it sounds like Jacksonville doesn't like Jack Del Rio *nudge-nudge* *wink-wink*. You better just send him back here and we'll … read more (http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/34896144.html?page=1&c=y#) trade you head coaches. lol If only the Vikes would have held onto their previous coaches instead of letting them become greats elsewhere. Imagine what our team would be like with formers like Jack Del Rio, Mike Tomlin, Brian Billick, or Tony Dungy. Mike Tomlin may have even been D-coach for 1 year, but he had the touch and the respect of the players. *sigh* Dreamland. . .

The Chiefs knew their pass rush would suffer without Jared Allen. But this is ridiculous.

With a league-low six sacks, Kansas City is on pace for 10, which would set an NFL record for fewest in a season.

The record is 11 set by the Baltimore Colts during the nine-game, strike-shortened 1982 season. The record in a 16-game season is 13 by the 1981 Baltimore Colts. The fewest by the Chiefs in a 16-game season is 22 in 1976.

Naturally, coach Herm Edwards has been asked whether it was wise trading Allen to the Vikings. After all, Allen has more sacks (eight) than the Chiefs' entire defense.

"He was with us last year, and he got [15 1/2] sacks, and we still went 4-12," Edwards said. "We got better at a lot of positions through that trade. They're all good players. It worked out well for both parties. ... We lost a heck of a player. At the end of the day, it was the right thing to do."

No stunts, twists, blitzes from the LB's or back 4?

IIRC it seems the Chiefs dont do any of these things...

Pretty easy to block 4 with 5 or 6.

Jared Allen is having a substandard year (for him) and he has more sacks by himself than the entire Chiefs _efense.

Chew on that for a minute or two.

Your record breaking Kansas City Chiefs need you to buy season tickets for the 2009 season

this is just mind-boggling .... the more you think about it, the more pathetic it is.

Gunther should be fired for this, if for no other reason.

Just start sending the house on every 3rd down situation, maybe someone will trip and fall into the qb

Herm should be fired for this for allowing the Cover 2 to be the primary defense...

you can't tell me that a legit defensive coord couldn't "manufacture" more than 6 sacks in 11 games just with a proper scheme.

heck ..... we should be able to get more than that from just being able to disguise and time our blitzes. :cuss:

Gut feeling.. this stat and D play vs. Bills will get to Gun and he'll be bringing the house soon. Job salvage attempt.

i doubt it ....... gunther is so bad at teaching/designing blitzes that we get burned about every time.

he's terrified to blitz so we just stopped

how can you move fast when you don't know what they hell you are doing

These two men have fielded the worst pass-rushing defense in the history of the NFL.
No way you keep a job after that.

he's terrified to blitz so we just stoppedI know, doesn't mean he won't try, which may get "some pressure" or sack, along with burns too, depends on what DL can start doing.(if anything)

Faiders and Russell this week maybe.... -> get 1
Donxs and Cutler 12/07 ---> good chance get 1
Bolts and Rivers 12/14 --> good chance get 1
'phins and Pennington 12/21 -> sloppy wet field at home get 1
Bungles and Palmer 12/28 => wet field in Cincy get 1.

so we still fall way short and set this dubious record least sacks.:shake:
