Just bought a new external hard drive and it is a fat32...I am converting it to a NTFS and I did the command prop but now it is telling me to enter the volume label...what is this? How do I find it?

Press enter unless you want it to have a "name"

Press enter unless you want it to have a "name"

It says an incorrect volume label was entered for this drive when I just hit enter...

If the drive is empty don't do a convert. Just format it as NTFS.

If it has data on it you don;t want to lose then you have to type in the HD name during the convert. Go to the explorer window that show all yoru drives. You will see the name there.
