My soon to be 14 year old wants the Xbox 360 for Christmas. He really likes the guitar hero $hit...this much I know. Seeing as I've turned into my parents in the last few years and have NO idea what I'm doing....what's the best deal going on out there? I know Wal-Mart had deal out there for $269 that seemed like a good deal, but it's sold out. Where else should I look?

Thanks!

I don't know about that deal, but I'd be wary of it, especially if your boy is going to be a big gamer. I would guess that you would get the lower end 360 in that deal, meaning less storage space to save games.

The arcade comes with a 512 mb memory card (or flash memory if it's a Jasper), that's enough if you just want to save games. You only need a HDD if you plan on downloading games and other content.

And you can always buy the starter's kit for $100 if you want, buying an arcade + the live starter pack is actually better than buying a 360 pro model since you get 5 arcade games, a memory card, and 3 months free live that you wouldn't get otherwise.

Or get the arcade end then buy the refurb HDD from xbox.com for $30.

Not the best option but is a decent starter setup if you are looking to save money.

Yeah, I forgot about that deal. There are enough options out there to grab a HDD, there isn't any real reason to avoid the arcade.

i got the xbox pro with kungfu panda and indiana jones for free. They are kind of gay games, but then again if he doesn't like it he can chop wood.. how you like that video game. ULTRA CUTTING ACTION SON! ok so that does bring me to a flash back. My parents were well enough off to buy my lucky ass a super nintindo when I was like 14 or so or whenever it came out. So I was like sweet! Now all I need is street fighter, but instead my parents skimped and got me pit fighter. the worst game ever PIT FIGHTER
PIT FIGHTER PIT FIGHTER PIT FIGHTER PIT FIGHTER. Anyway long story short I did have fun with mario and pit fighter. I just remember that game because I had to take off my glasses and just pretend it was sfIIturbo ultra or whatever was out at that time
