View Full Version : Movies and TV YouTube- the best man-cry tearjerker video clips

Those 2 recent vid clips of the kids running into the arms of their dads were something else. You're simply not human if you don't squirt a few after seeing these.

Which got me thinking- how about a thread consisting of the biggest man-cry video clips? The videos that make you mist up or blubber everytime you see them. No matter if they make you bawl from joy, pride, sadness, love, or whatever. Just as long as they can turn you into a girlie man by the end of the clip.

I'll start. This clip from Passion of the Christ gets me every time I see it. At about the 1-minute mark, when Mary runs to comfort her child and the music swells- man. I'm a dripping mess every time I see it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asCtjQNm5xQ

I'm looking forward to this. I think. And break out the tissues.

My throat knotted up a while back, and It kind of made me chuckle a little, because it felt good to almost shed a tear. I have since dropped a few, but I can't remember why, or to what, but the incident I was referring to was when I was watching the movie."The Abyss" and dude had to watch his wife drown, and then bring her back to life. I've seen it since then, and it just didn't hit me the way it did that day. Cool movie.

I was headed that way originally, but for the different reason of him seeing his wife walk through the crowd.

But I love that last scene because to me, the story/journey of Robert The Bruce in this film is just as prolific as Wallace's.
And something about that sword flying through the air, landing as it does, and the last words that are spoken just hits that part of me and every man who carries an old-world Warrior in their soul.

RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!

Yeah, I still hold back tears every time I watch Rudy. For some reason that one really hits home for me. One of my favorite movies.

Man, if this doesn't give you inspiration and make you tear up, you are dead inside.

When I first saw this scene - I remember it distinctly - I rarely cry watching a movie - I save it for more important things - BUT I literally sobbed out loud, ran out of the room and questioned some beliefs i have - this is SUCH a powerful scene - it encapsulates the Nazi movement in one minute of film...

I can't see the videos at work, but I'd like to submit this movie to the jury if it hasn't been already:

One last tear-jerker moment, but I won't put it on here because of the abuse I would take....

I can't listen to "Butterfly Kisses" anymore without having a tear or two...

At the last couple of Father-Daughter dances the last song of the night they played was Butterfly Kisses...every Dad dancing with their Daughter and nary a dry eye in the place.

This is the only movie scene that ever made me almost cry...(I have daughters)

That is one of the toughest scenes to watch. THat little girl does a fantastic job of acting. That was 100% believable.

That one was tough BRC. Coincidently, I showed this to my wife. She loves kids and works with them every day and all she said was "awww." WTF, she didn't even get teared up a little bit. Boy that makes me feel like a big vag. maybe I just can't handle kids crying. It tears me up everytime.

The clip I was going to contribute was the final scene from Hoosiers. I believe Gene Hackman has a monologue, can't remember though. Yeah the movie is a little cheesy, but I tear up at the end of that one. Some guys probably don't, but I have put my heart and soul into basketball before and can understand the significance of what happened. Maybe someone else can find it. I was unsuccessful.

This is from Grave of the Fireflies, a movie about two Japanese children who try to survive on their own after their mother is killed during the final months of World War II. It doesn't end well.

The whole movie is depressing, but this scene in particular got to me.

I'm not sure I can find the particular scene, but one fo the final scenes from "Where the Red Fern Grows" where the female dog 'Little Ann', doesn't want to leave when the family moves; and simply lays at the resting spot of her brother 'Big Dan'.

I have 2 dogs; boy and girl dog 1 year apart; that's probably why it got to me.

the other is one of the final scenes from "The Notebook"; where james garner's character spends a final moment with his wife (she suffers from alzheimers) in which she finally remembers him; then they both die in bed. Jesus....I couldn't imagine actually going through something like that.
