I was talking to my brother and it just died. Now it's not even charging. On my trip a few weeks ago I had forgotten to take the charger. So I went to Verizon and purchased a car charger for it. Since the trip I have noticed that when fully charged it only lasts for a few calls. Now this. Could it be that the car charger has done it in?

had the same thing happen to me. Bought a new battery and that still didn't work! So I bought a worthless $60 battery and then had to buy a new phone. Pissed!

If they have a Go-Phone like AT&T does then I'd go buy that and just put in new SIM Card and whaa laaa. I did that after my Rzr failed me after 2 years, bought a cheap $20 Go Phone, put my SIM in it, and works like magic and I can treat it like crap without having to worry.

Someone has surely bleeched the gene pool that once solved Algebra but now can't conquer the battery charger.

I just saw "the other thread" that you were really referring to. Had not seen that before I posted mine. This makes my other reply to your post totally dumb. I HAVE already gotten my new phone, so it has served its purpose. Maybe a mod should totally delete this thread.

I'd imagine it IS pretty difficult to see things like, oh, a thread stickied to the very top of the page....through the walls of ones Lower Colon.

You mean you have never started a thread without looking at other topics. Some of us are a bit less perfect than you, I suppose. Oh well.

Make sure the bluetooth setting is set to OFF. My son messed around with mine, and turned the bluetooth setting to ON, and it wears down the battery from full to zero everyday. This went on for weeks until I went to Verizon and they figured it out. I don't use bluetooth, so I never knew.

With all respect to Mr Luzcious whose thread i had not seen before I posted mine, I have changed the title of mine.

Once again my apologies to Mr Luzcious. Certainly no insensitivity was intended and my little inconvenience is quite trivial compared to his shock and sadness.

A friend of mine who has worked on business radios for 20-30 yrs once told me that you have to be careful with car chargers on batteries. AC chargers have something that keeps them from overcharging and frying your battery but not all car chargers have that something - esp. the cheap ones.
