Thinking you may have unclaimed money that the state currently holds?

Kansas (http://www.kansascash.com/prodweb/up/ownr_1.php)
Missouri (https://www.treasurer.mo.gov/Search.asp)
Iowa (https://www.greatiowatreasurehunt.com/search/index.cfm?lname=Hipsley&fname=&searchName.x=37&searchName.y=16)

Just type in your last name, or a family member last name, and search, and see if any of those names ring a bell to you.

I did this for the state of CA. I typed everyone's name I could think of. My mom was owed 200 bucks from like 1982.

Well, it's money. Better than zero if you are owed, especially in a tough times like right now.

Don't do it, if your name shows up it means you have outstanding warrants and they are going to arrest you when you show up for your money.

I was on there for 2 old utility deposits from 2000 and 2002. Also found my Aunt, 2 cousins, and a couple friends... Thinking about charging them 10%...

cool...

I am owed $30 from my Vision Service Plan. Says I never cashed a check in 2005. Hey, better than a swift kick.

It is funny. It also says they have made attempts to contact me and have been unsuccessful. I have never changed my phone or address...

If you are going through some sort of service, I could see it as fraud. But if you can go to an actual state site, as I did in CA., then how can it be fraud? It is not like you are paying someone to get you the $$$. You are just checking the state records.

Bump. I was about to start this thread, but wanted to see if it was here already. Is this real, has anyone had experience with this before?

Edit: I didn't click the links in the op when I saw this thread. The site is www.unclaimed.org. Has anyone had any luck with this site?

No, it's just a way to catch people with unpaid parking tickets.

I found something on the Kansas site regarding my late grandmother.

Property Type: MS11 - Refund Due

Would I be allowed to inquire about this as her grandson? Anybody know how that works?
