Oh, don't get me wrong. I loved that movie. It's funny to go back and watch movies that I loved when I was 10 years old. My favorite movies were Adventures in Babysitting and Can't Buy Me Love. I knew pack then that Patrick Dempsey would grow up to be good looking. :)

And yeah. He should have stopped the Indiana Jones with the Last Crusade.

Can't Buy Me Love is a very good movie, loaded with examples of how we are basically retarded as a species.

It's amazing what people loved 20 years ago.

We saw it as a family, and chuckled over some of the lines and situations, but were under no illusions that it was a classic. Just a couple hours of dumb fun.

I WAS a big fan of Marty McFly's mom in her panties, though. Still am.

Her and Amy Pietz made my pretty darn forgiving of the pap that was Caroline in the City, for that matter [plus that was where Lauren Graham got her start, leading to News Radio].

Yes.

I particularly loved the part where all the popular kids started doing the tribal dance from PBS that Dempsey started, only because he was doing it and they thought he was cool.

IMO, this is a movie all high school kids should watch.

I actually preferred Pietz, and turns out I STILL loved her as the 'Doncha-know' Wisconsinite MILF in Aliens in America last fall. She has a Marisa Tomei knockoff vibe to her.
