KU looks good overall so far. I am/was hoping that Little will come out of funk a little bit in this game.

This team has definitely been playing much better lately. Hopefully, you are right and we can beat MSU. But that is a road game and this is a young team. I am not chalking up that one just yet. Plus, MSU is a pretty darn good team this year.

Uh yeah...they are some peoples pick as one the final four this year. Our LACK of road games thus far worries me too. KU will learn alot from that game though. I'm really happy with how our non-league games schedule has shaped up this year.

Just in time for conference. I think Self has this coaching thing down pretty good.

Hey Sherron; your a great player and I think you are one hell of a point. BUT when you get triple teamed pass the ball to Morris WIDE OPEN on the wing!!

HolyHandgernade

Siena is just shooting lights out. Any team that shoots like that is going to run a defense ragged.

part of that is the Help Defense Self likes to run

when you have players rotating to help all the time you are going to leave 3 point shooters open.

Sure, but Bill Self teams usually guard the 3 point shot a little better than this. They will come around. They are still very young.

get the ball to the middle against a zone

Jackson of Siena had a couple of 3 point attempts in a very short span. The first one he was wide open and missed. The second one he was not as wide open but he was open. The defensive rotation was late. He drained that second one.

Can see the experience of an NCAA Tourney team with all five starters returning paying off for Siena. Aldrich seems tosometimes get his feet too close together when catching the inbounds pass, preventing him from getting into a good position to turn and shoot.

A. Siena is playing zone.
B. Our young players need it drilled into their heads over and over that they should try to get it inside more.

Sophomore or not we are going to have to beat the NBA agents away with a stick after this season. Many draft boards have him projected as an easy first rounder already....if he keeps on doing what he has been doing he may not be back next year. Would be a shame but I couldn't blame the kid.

How did Morningstar play? I was anxious to see if he could follow-up with similar effort from the last game. I am also interested in how Taylor played. He is ubertalented.

For this young team - any win is a good win at this point....builds confidence for conference play.

Additionally, I think Mr. Self likes to see the young kids face adversity and deal with "tight down the stretch" kind of games.....again, prepares for conference/tourney play.

Eh, the dude is coming in off some injuries. He may still turn out to be a great scorer. It just may take some time.:rolleyes: He shows the occasional flash, but I agree that I haven't seen anything spectacular out of him so far.

points of interest ... the Morris kids showed a little extra flash again. Some outside shooting, some passing

then promptly imploded again :doh!:

morningstar played really well ....... to start ..... and then couldn't buy a basket. He also struggled while assigned to Jackson. Once Self switch Morningstar off Jackson, he did fine.

the whole team started off hot and then couldn't hit the forest for all the trees ... including morningstar.

they looked lazy and that showed up in their passing and defense
