Why does everything that involves Pioli have to be put in one thread? I don't like dup threads either but if there is new legit news on the situation I'd prefer a new thread. Its not very user friendly to have to dig through some monster thread looking for news.

Yeah I know REPOST its in the Pioli merged thread....:cuss::cuss:

Thank God.

Unlike some of you I stop in in the morning then late at night. So I scan the thread titles to see if I miss anything.

If any real news breaks, I'm pretty sure there are going to be hundreds of threads about it.

I agree. Compilation threads are garbage. They quickly become 20+ page monsters where you have to wade through pages of trash and idle chatter to find relevant info.

The front page of this site isn't so sacred that we should have to deal with this. Let some of the trash threads that get created on a daily basis fall into the obscurity of page 2 to make room for relevant info. If posters are deemed capable of wading through 100 pages of a single thread, I think they are likely just as capable of finding old threads of the same subject that didn't get thrown into a landfill like the Pioli thread

How hard is it to just scroll down on the last page for updates? Like Brock said, if the official news breaks, I'm sure there will be a few new threads created.

Good question, but you should have posted it in the Pioli super-thread.

The problem is that people were starting a new thread every time they heard another rumor about Pioli. When I finally broke down and merged them, there were five different threads on the front page that all basically said "I just heard from this obscure rumor site that this or that or another happened." That's pointless and divides the conversation on one topic. What's the point?

If there were any actual news coming out, I'd be all for it getting its own thread. As it is, no one really knows anything, so it seems pointless to have a different thread every time someone hears something from some source that doesn't really know anything.

This.

Using the logic of the one Pioli thread one could create a Bradford thread where any and all Bradford news must be located. Its just not user friendly, and takes some of the life out of the board. There are some people who offer a truly unique take on the situation that merits its own thread. We lose that when I have to sift through a 20 page thread to find the nuggets I desire.

I say whoever officially breaks the Pioli news....whether it be hired as Chiefs GM or staying in NE gets $10,000 in casino cash.

I dont mind the merged thread as long as any updates are listed in the OP. The only thing I might suggest to DaFace is to include a date somewhere in the quote as to when it was made. I know it shows the last updated at the bottom, but that doesn't show any of the progression for the other posts.

It seems like these compilation threads are becoming more and more commonplace. IMO, these things tend to work themselves out on their own. The true discussion tends to migrate to a single thread anyway. The only thing that keeps the other threads alive are the 500 douchebags that feel the need to bump them with banal comments.

I know personally I've started avoiding these monster threads because it's a waste of time to pour through a couple days worth of discussion in an attempt to locate the current direction of the conversation.

I miss the good old days when people who posted duplicate thread topics got crucified by long timers. It may have been a little harsh, but at least it was a lesson that was ingrained.

It would be awful to disrupt the quality threads on the front page :)

I guess in my opinion the threads that get started that aren't actually thread worthy will die off on their own soon enough. I suppose the real problem may be the influx of imbeciles that won't let them die, and the culture change of this site that has allowed those imbeciles to flourish.

Hmm...I suppose there may have been a "FA repository" thread started, but it wasn't one that I merged together anyway.

A sticky with only REAL info/news is warranted
spammers will be delt with harshly by those
that feel fit to do so

If someone wants to start some sort of "news only" thread, I won't merge it. Not sticky-worthy IMO, but it would make things easier for those just wanting to know if anything new is going on.
