What a terrible trailer!

So, is the movie half-filmed and half C.G.?

Tough to tell what the heck is going on there.

75% of the trailer is taken straight from Conan. ROFL. Some bits from LOTR. That shit doesn't look even remotely real.

your right. A lot of these films are by media art students. I've done a couple for a class so I knew what it was right when I hit play. There are some that are pretty cool I have to admit. Only cause I'm a media arts major and I'm biased.

You must immediately buy Conan the Barbarian and watch it at least five times over the course of the weekend. :harumph:

(Seriously, it's a great movie. Don't bother with the second one, though - it sucks balls.)

And yes, those ripped off scenes were instantly recognizable. Of course, it helps having the same sword hanging on my wall as a reference. :)

Many people dismiss the first Conan movie as lame because Arnie's acting was bad, but it was actually a very well-made film. Oliver Stone did the screenplay, John Milius directed, and it featured some solid veteran actors, including James Earl Jones and Max von Sydow. And the score is, IMO, the best ever, and really makes the movie. And the swords are REAL, and the swordfights are badass.

As much of a sci-fi and monster movie freak as I was back then (still now really, heh) the fantasy movies always looked stupid to me so I never bothered watching them during that decade.

I think the first one I even gave a shot was Legend and I absolutely HATED it. Kind of solidified my position. It wasn't until The Lord of the Rings Trilogy before I really enjoyed movies based on pure fantasy. Ironically, Fellowship left me kind of underwhelmed so it took me a while before I gave Two Towers a shot.

Well, it's dopey, the effects are bad, Arnold can't act and the best actor in the entire film might be the giant snake (or Mako), but it's still a classic "guy" film that you need to see.

really? that was my favorite one!I went into it biased so I was a hard sell to begin with. Kind of irritated me that had no closure at the end. Yes, I knew there were more movies to come but I just thought they would go standard hollywood and actually make it kind of stand alone.

Looking back though, I love the entire trilogy now and even have the extended editions of each movie which are even better than the theatrical releases.
