Season Team GP Rating Att Comp Pct Yds TD Int
2005 Oklahoma Sooners 12 113.5 308 167 54.2 2018 10 10
2007 Sam Houston State 9 130.90 291 172 59.1 2209 10 6
2008 Sam Houston State 10 135.30 436 245 56.2 3355 27 13

I'd be interested in the Planet's thoughts on this kid. Obviously he exposed himself with the car dealership situation, but if he demonstrated that he matured, what do we think of this player and in what round would he be a "good" selection?

Decent size, by the way. About 6'2" 220lbs.

Sorry about the format of the stat line. When I try to edit my post, it looks fine, but when I save the changes, it's back to all messed up.

Career 56% completion. 1.5:1 TD to INT

No thanks.

And if he's listed as 6'2", he's likely only 6'.

Yeah, the completion percentage is disconcerting.

Big time prospect coming out of high school, though...

2-1 TD to INT as a senior made me wonder if he was trying to be a chicken salad chef. I'd imagine this is likely coming out of Sam Houston State.

I understand what you mean, but Sanchez and Stafford are both listed at 6'3", so...

Matt Ryan threw a bunch of picks his senior year. So did Dan Marino. Bomar has a lot of natural ability, and got involved in some paid for hours not actually worked bullshit while at OU. Otherwise people would've been talking about him coming out early last year. I have a feeling that if there is a gem QB in this draft that will be had around round 5, this is the guy.

Under the right circumstances, I would have no problem snatching this guy up.

I think he's a midrounder that will overachieve himself into the first day for some desperate team.

The ratio to teams looking for QBs in this draft and QBs worth their salt is totally mismatched. Every QB will rise.

I hear he's been highly sought after by both Ford and Toyota dealerships.

The problem with Bomar is that he's never had a season that he completed 60% or more of his passes, and that is something a tell as to whether a QB can succeed on the next level.

looks like he had a 12-13 yrd completion average

Did anyone see his game against KU?

He threw for 340 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTS.

I've heard reports on 810 that he actually looked really good in this game, but I never saw it. Supposedly looked like a legit prospect, for whatever that's worth against the KU defense, which isn't much, I know.

I watched the KU game. His team was shit. If he would have been on a decent college team, his stats would have been better. He had to do a lot of it on his own; force passes, roll away from pressure, long third downs, LOTS of running for a horrible runner like he is. I remember discussing the game with Mecca and he seemed to think Bomar would be a decent pro prospect.

Personally, I don't think I would be happy with the pick. His knee is FUCKING smoked. You could definitely tell it isn't right. When he scrambled int he KU game, he was limping....not limping I guess, just favoring it. And holy fuckass, he took a load of hard hits on it, and KU wasn't all that good of a team, he would have taken a load more in the whole season I would have to think.

I personally don't think he'd be anything but camp fodder. I don't know dick about evaluating QBs. And I knowingly admit it.

Bomar's completion percentage was lower at Oklahoma than at SHS.

The guy is a long-term project at best and may never pan out.

I wouldn't spend more than a 6th round pick on him at most. Probably a 7th or as an undrafted free agent.

He has a long, long way to go.

Typical OU QB.

Do they run the spread at Sam Houston?

I haven't seen him play in a few years, but he was horrible at OU.

He's a 6th round project at best.

His completion percentage was 54%, 59%, 56% and he makes bad decisions under pressure.
