do you guys think we will keep the 4-3 or swith to a 3-4 now that pioli is in?

also,

what kind of repetoire did the DC's have while he was there? alot of zone?, man to man?, zone blitz? all out blitz?

Pioli is the GM, not the coach...

I say if possible utilize both. Stick with one as the base scheme than give the MLB the option to audible into the other scheme if necessary.

It will probably depend on the DC. But since Pioli will be the guy hiring him, id say it will likely be a guy that has used the 3-4 at one time. I would looove the 3-4 IF we bring in the right players.

depends also on the players we get..if by the luck of god Everette Brown is still available in Round 2, we could do some different things with him like we did DT

I want a 4-3 scheme that's aggressive as hell, ala the Giants or Eagles.

The 3-4 is coming so just get ready.

I'm good with that is certain situations, but unless we bring in a boatload of defensive free agents, we don't have the personnel to run it is our base D.

As a fan, I like the 3-4.

More atheletes on the field, better blitz schemes....

How would Glenn Dorsey fit in a 3-4? Doesn't seem he's suited for it.

How would Glenn Dorsey fit in a 3-4? Doesn't seem he's suited for it.I am pretty sure I read before the last draft that he was projected as a good DE in a 3-4. We would then need a beast of a NT and move Hali to OLB.

How long until someone starts a thread wondering if Dallas would trade Ware to the Chiefs for the #3 pick......? Then there would be all highly informed opinions like "I wouldn't trade our 5th for that loser!" responses...Haha...

Chiefs go with the 4-6 and bring in Buddy Ryan.

What makes anyone think that Hali's slow ass would be a good OLB in any scheme?

This might be an appropriate time to ask. Can someone please explain to me what the significance of a 3-technique DT is? What does that even mean? It is refered to often here and I have no clue what it is. For example, IMHO Ziggy Hood had an above average year this year. Nothing great, but he was solid. Now, after the senior bowl, he is projected as a 3rd rounder, maybe low 2nd because he is a 3-technique defensive tackle. Flame on, if you must, but I am curious.

A 3-technique DT lines up in the gap between the guard and tackle but shifted slightly towards the guard.

A 4-technique DT lines up in the gap between the guard and tackle but shifted slightly towards the tackle.

The Chiefs often had Dorsey line up directly facing the guard, which is retarded.

Also, the 3-technique DT is supposed to shoot his gap to get into the backfield and try to disrupt the play. It's not his job to tie up blocks.

As long as the dead beats learn how to tackle I couldn't care less how they line up.

Ok. wow, that makes so much more sense now. Thank you!

Don't think he is suited for it either.

He was a good pick as a 4-3 DT, in a 3-4?? I dunno...

Course I guess you could say that jury's still out about him as a 4-3 DT too
