View Full Version : Funny Stuff Gotta Love Ted...

Ted Nugent, rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan, was being interviewed by a French journalist, an animal rights activist.

The discussion came around to deer hunting.

The journalist asked, 'What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, 'Are you my friend?' or is it 'Are you the one who killed my brother?'

Nugent replied, 'Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, what am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the French.'

The interview ended.

Wow I love ted :)

It's like an interview some French reporter did on Howard stern's show. She asked him how does it feel to be thought as one of the most vulgar people in the world. I can't remember what he said but it was along the lines of well I guess I could be like the French and bend over and let Hitler screw me in the butt.

I was laughing so hard I had to pull my car over.

The actual quote has changed slightly and it was a British journalist, but otherwise...

And yes, he did make the comment in a May 2006 interview conducted by a British journalist Robert Chalmers for The Independent on Sunday, the expanded Sunday version of the UK newspaper The Independent:

"What do these deer think when they see you coming?" I ask him. "Here comes the nice guy who puts out our dinner? Or, there's the man that shot my brother?"

"I don't think they're capable of either of those thoughts, you Limey asshole. They're only interested in three things: the best place to eat, having sex and how quickly they can run away. Much like the French."

Which of the following did not serve in the Army?

1) Jimi Hendrix
2) Elvis Presley
3) Ted Nugent
4) Jerry Garcia

In a 1977 High Times interview when asked why he did not serve in the military during Vietnam, he responded

"I got 30 days' (draft) notice of the physical," I ceased cleansing my body. Two weeks before the test I stopped eating food with nutritional value. A week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. My pants got crusted up."

Since eveyone has an opinion about Ted Nugent, mine is he is 2 years older than me. In 1969 I quit college and enlisted in the Army. I also had a draft lottery number of 265 which meant my name wouldn't of been called. I don't have a problem with people who didn't serve, just the ones who suddenly become patriotic much later.

Garcia stole his mother's car in 1960, and as punishment, joined the United States Army. He received basic training at Fort Ord.[15] After training, he was transferred to Fort Winfield Scott in the Presidio of San Francisco.[35] Garcia spent most of his time in the army at his leisure, missing roll call and accruing many counts of AWOL.[36] As a result, Garcia was given a general discharge on December 14, 1960

You and the Nudge close?I used to like a few of his songs. I like to hunt, and know he does as well. Beyond that... don't know much about his politics or stance on drafts etc. I guess he's pretty vocal about his patriotism.

But the whole "what he believes at age 50(?) and what he did at age 19 don't align" stance just strikes me as silly. People make a lot of stupid choices in their youth. There's probably a hell of a lot of people who volunteered that wouldn't do it knowing what they know now, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are less patriotic.
