as much as we all hate CP, there's a part of me that feels he has a right to be there, along with marty. peterson and marty were like father figures to thomas, and to hold peterson out because of the 10 years since thomas' death, would be a mistake. for the record, i'm pulling for marty to give the speech.

This man is the reason I became a Kc chiefs fan I'm happy really happy for him and his family RIP I loved you and when I finally met you it was a highlight of my life.

I wanna share a short story with all of you. I was a lot younger and we got down into the locker room saw dave krieg, Christian okoye, and joe Phillips. Then my brother and me stood stunned there he was sitting on a stool infront of his locker looking exaughsted. We didn't say anything to him so my dad's friend said derrick here are two of your fans. He signed my brothers jersey and my hat and asked us if we enjoyed the game. Then I got enough courage to ask him about university of Alabama by saying "so derrick can bama do it this year?". He finally smiled and said you never can count out bama he wished us luck and we did to him.

This is one my best memories of my life sorry if your mad I shared this story I just felt I needed too.

Yeah, they are acting like little bitches because Sharpe didn't get in. You have to have some real class to insult a dead guy like that punk Spider is doing.

Yeah, they are acting like little bitches because Sharpe didn't get in. You have to have some real class to insult a dead guy like that punk Spider is doing.

You gotta feel a little bad for them over there.

Knowing how few Hall of Famers they have, surely they got all their little hopes raised about Mushmouth's chances. I mean, what's the list of actual pure Bronco HOFers? Just Elway, right? How sad. They're the proverbial red-headed stepchild of the NFL. Even the Raiders get more respect.

And who's in line for them once Sharpe gets in? Rod Smith? Hopefully he'll settle for making the wifebeating Hall of Fame, 'cause he's a shoe-in there. I'm sure they'll try to claim half-credit for John Lynch if he makes it, but they'll just get laughed at. Would anyone be surprised if they tried getting Jerry Rice listed under the Broncos HOF list for the 5 minutes he was in Denver?

It has to hurt to get so excited about Mr. Ed getting in, only to watch him fail. And deep down they all know WHY he didn't get in the first time -- because of a certain TE smashing all his records and making him look irrelevant. So that only makes the pain worse. (And, boy, that's gonna sting for ol' Seabiscut when Tony cruises into the HOF his first time up.)

AND aside from their own failure, they've gotta deal with DT getting in, which is going to mean seeing endless clips of Elway getting knocked on his ass for the next few months.

So we oughta cut 'em a little slack. It's not a good day in Donkeyville.

AND aside from their own failure, they've gotta deal with DT getting in, which is going to mean seeing endless clips of Elway getting knocked on his ass for the next few months.

So we oughta cut 'em a little slack. It's not a good day in Donkeyville.

Great news! One less thing I have to be bitter about. Even though it's way overdue, I can now let it go.

I'm going to cry like a baby during his induction.

I hear ya'. Every time he got passed over, it was like reliving the nightmare all over again.

Chiefs fans will cheer Willie Roaf when he gets to the HOF, and rightfully so. But we really just rented him for a few years. He made his name with the Saints. You wont see us trying to claim him as our own HOF player the way Denver did with Zimmerman.

And some Broncos fan will come along to say Zimmerman is a Bronco because he had a falling out with the Vikings and loves Pat Bowlen, like that makes any difference. The relationship between Marcus Allen and Al Davis doesnt change the fact that Marcus is mostly remembered as a Raider.

But when you cant get your own players in the HOF, I guess you have to settle for getting in guys you rented for a few years.

Every players "case" is fairly clear-cut. Montana goes in as a 49'er. Bobby Bell went in as a Chief though he was traded to Minnesota towards the end of his career.

The one that truly chaps MY ass though, is Marcus Allen. For all that "I hate Al Davis" shit, he sure as fuck didn't have a problem going in to the Hall wearing Mr. Davis' colors, now did he?
He was treated BEYOND well by the fans and citizens of KC; his choice was shit.

Marcus didn't pick anything. Football players don't go into the HOF choosing one team over another. They're listed under every team they played for, with extra weight going to the place where they made their name. In his case, that's with Oakland. There's no denying that.

But when he got his HOF ring, he did it in KC. He's been fairly clear about his personal choice between the two.

I took the eras in to account, but that had less bearing on my outcome than number of starts, and numbers accrued IN those starts.

Bell and Lanier are absolutely 1 and 2, but Derrick eclipses Buck handily. Another thing those two had on the opposition was that they were fast AND HUGE.
When you look at the old footage, Bobby and Willie look like the Jolly Green Giant out there compared to everyone else. And having been around Bobby several times, I can tell you that he has to dip his head to get through the doorway.

Staubach, Peterson Highlight HOF Presenters

Posted by Mike Florio on June 4, 2009, 7:11 p.m.

Earlier today, Bills owner Ralph Wilson said that ESPNís Chris Berman will present the long-time AFL and NFL owner for induction into the Hall of Fame.

The other five presenters also have been identified.

Per the Hall of Fameís web site, the late Bob Hayes will be presented by former Cowboys quarterback and Hall of Famer Roger Staubach. The late Derrick Thomas will be presented by the man who drafted him two decades ago, former Chiefs G.M. Carl Peterson.

Bruce Smith will be presented by former Bills defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell. And thatís a coup of sorts for the UFL, since Cottrell will serve as the head coach for one of the new leagueís four teams in 2009.

Rod Woodson will be presented by Tracy Foster, a long-time friend and business associate. Finally, Randall McDaniel will be presented by O.K. Fulton, his high school athletic director and assistant principal at Agua Fria Union High School in Avondale, Arizona

Did anyone who ordered tickets receive them yet, or do they mail them out closer to the date?

I got my museum tickets right away, but was under the impression that the ceremony tickets wouldn't be mailed out until June.

Haven't ordered museum tix yet, but this is from when I ordered the Induction tix:

Thank you for your purchase to the 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony.

If you also purchased tickets to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Museum, those tickets will be mailed at the same time as your Enshrinement tickets.

All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.

All tickets will be mailed the end of June first class US Mail.

Please continue to check our website for the most up to date information regarding the Inductees and the Ceremony at www.profootballhof.com.

Thank you,
The Pro Football Hall of Fame

That's really weird.

I bought on the 31st, the day of the announcement. My envelope has a postmark date of February 2nd.

Did you buy them together or separate transactions? Otherwise,

Together.

That's what makes it weird.
