Saying KC is against him and the organization has been against him since the minute he signed his deal. When he came on he asked Chris and Cowboy to play a clip from Scarface (the one where he says he's the bad guy, but he speaks the truth) He sounds like a crybaby, spoiled, petulant, brat.

FUGG LJ. The market for cry baby non team players is not good. On top of that he'll be 30 for next season and on the downside of his career. Another King Carl pick that turned out to be a pathedic waste.

My advice to Pioli (as if he needs it) is too rid this team of both Gonzo and LJ. I love Gonzo, but the fact of the matter is no individual is greater than the team.

The new head coach doesn't need discontentment in the locker room on day 1. Remove it.

Rio Bravo with singing cowboys over Robert Mitchum and El Dorado makes Baby Jesus cry. El Dorado is the same movie (almost literally word for word) but with actual men in supporting roles. Ricky Nelson? Really?

Open Range was good. I thought the shootout at the end was very original they way it was done.
I'm actually prefer Eastwood's westerns to John Wayne's. I just always loved the Man With No Name trilogy.
I don't know if you could categoirize The Proposition as a Western, it's an Australian Western I guess, but if that counts it was a good recent one. I liked it a lot.

Rio Bravo with singing cowboys over Robert Mitchum and El Dorado makes Baby Jesus cry. El Dorado is the same movie (almost literally word for word) but with actual men in supporting roles. Ricky Nelson? Really?

But Walter Brennan was NOT in El Dorado. That alone is enough to make Rio Bravo better.

Who is going to pick up his sh*tty contract? Why take a big cap hit just to appease him and maybe get a 5th rounder for him? I am so sick of his baby attitude. He should shut up, wait to see what changes are made and go from there. You think Haley will put up with his crap? Local Radio and TV should ignore him and stop giving him headlines and air time. Maybe Pioli will negotiate a large portion of his signing bonus back to release him?
Keep him, make him ride the bench to end his career. That would be perfect!

Packers make offer for Johnson

Larry Johnson By Todd Korth
, packrepted@aol.com
Posted Apr 26, 2007

PackerReport.com has confirmed that the Green Bay Packers have made an offer with the Kansas City Chiefs to acquire Larry Johnson. What are the Packers dangling in front of the Chiefs for the Pro Bowl running back? Read on.

A source outside of the Chiefs organization informed Scout.com’s Warpaint Illustrated this morning that the Packers have offered their first overall pick (16th overall) and fourth round pick (112th overall) in this weekend’s NFL draft for Johnson, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2007 season.
The Packers are seeking a running back to fill the vacancy left by Ahman Green, who signed as a free agent with the Houston Texans in March. Johnson, who turns 28 on Nov. 19, reportedly wants out of Kansas City, and the Chiefs are unwilling to meet his contract demands that exceed the eight-year, $65 million deal that league MVP LaDainian Tomlinson received two years ago. It is believed that Johnson wants an eight-year, $85 million contract.

If the Packers and Chiefs agree on a trade, it is likely that a verbal agreement on a contract between Johnson and the Packers would have to be in place. Messages left with Johnson’s agent, Alvin Keels, were not returned today.

The Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills and possibly New York Giants also have shown interest in Johnson, according to reports.

Vernand Morency, Noah Herron, P.J. Pope and Arliss Beach are currently Green Bay’s top running backs. Only Morency has starting experience – two games last season. The Packers are expected to select California’s Marshawn Lynch with the 16th overall pick … if they don’t deal their pick away.

Johnson was selected in the first round (27th overall) by the Chiefs in the 2003 NFL Draft. He worked his way into the starting lineup in 2004 behind Priest Holmes, and has rushed for more than 1,700 yards in each of his last two seasons, and 37 touchdowns. However, Johnson is not the best blocker and sometimes has problems catching the ball out of the backfield.

The Chiefs have tried to work out a deal with Johnson, but Chiefs insiders say that the running back will not be in uniform for Kansas City in 2007

The bottom line is that the Chiefs under Carl were one of the worst franchises in terms of drafting. I wasn't Dukes best. But it was far from Terrible. To see your first John Wayne western try one of these:

Red River
The searchers
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
Rio Bravo
The War wagon

The first three feature the Duke in edgier roles. The last one is more light-hearted action and Rio Bravo is kind of in between.

I would also recommend Stagecoach, Angel and the Badman and the John Ford Cavalry trilogy (Fort Apache, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, and Rio Grande)

After all that make sure you see his last movie, The Shootist.

Especially if he isn't a team cancer like TO. He just has some off the field problems and whines a little too much. I thought he played very well this season when he was in. I don't think he's the type of player like Tony though. If he's that unhappy, he won't produce....

I still can't fucking believe that a fucking RB was signed to that type of contract. Was he the last big RB signing that will ever happen? I think the good teams have shown that ANYONE can fill in at RB. The money should be going to the offensive line and QB.

In all actuality, yes. A lot of people still didn't like him.

However, that's not the relevant moment in time. The relevant moment is when he we re-signed him. At that point, he's no longer a draft pick of any sort, he's just another player.

EVERYONE (save a few extra-special morons) was upset at that contract. Very few people thought he should be brought back at all, let alone brought back while passing on a 1st round pick and giving him stupid money.

Big Jake is a great "Cherry Poppin" western. Not too heavy, good villians, the hero is a little flawed and it has some good humor thrown in.

Were people complaining about LJ when he had 1,700 yard seasons? I wasn't on Chiefs Planet back then. Just curious. I think people can put up with a whiner if he produces on the field.

O-line. Period. I could have gained 1300 behind that line. And his other 1700 yrd season took 416 carries to get to.

Frankie
02-04-2009, 11:32 AM
Well, it's impossible to see into the future, Mr. oaklandhater, but Uncle Dick knew what LJ was all about very early on.

The bottom line is that the Chiefs under Carl were one of the worst franchises in terms of drafting. Part of me wants to believe that we would have selected someone with that pick who would spend their career on the practice squad. I would hate to think that we could have saved all that money and gotten a solid contributor to boot.

Think of the bright side. Had he done that he would still be here instead of Pioli. There's always a silver lining.

what trade value does he have? A 30 year old unhappy RB with legal troubles, a gangster mentality depite a multi million $ contract and growing up in suburbia?

A) CP would have stone-walled him in negotiations, resulting in him walking from the team without us gaining any compensation.
B) CP refuses to sign him due to his 'hippy long hair' and trades him away.
