Hmm, see I always pictured you as a 9-to-5er. It just struck me as odd that you were stuck at work at 8 on a Thursday. Of course then I realized that you're on the west coast and I am, in fact, a complete retard.

I love it. I went there for my b'day and had 2 of their strongest and I was drunk as shit coming back to work. 2 Pints of that will make you grow hair on your chest. My fav is the Red Trolley Ale.

When I was on my honeymoon in Lake Tahoe we went to San Francisco for a day, and we decided to leave the city right around 5:00 to head back to Sacramento where we were staying the night. What an incredibly stupid idea that was, we no more than got across the bay bridge and traffic was at a virtual standstill on I-80. There were people reading fucking books and newspapers while stuck in the traffic for chrissakes. We ended up getting off the freeway in some town called Richmond and drinking at some dive bar for two hours while traffic thinned. I could never deal with that shit on a daily basis.

Well I don't deal w/ it on a daily basis.

I always work 10+ hrs a day, so I'm gettin out of here at 6 pm or later, and usually traffic has cleared by then. On a great day it takes me 20 minutes to get home. Probably 30 minutes on average.

Its down to 54 minutes now, but I'm not leaving until it gets under 40.

The worst I ever had was one day last February. I left work at 4:30 that day (was still on hourly pay) and didn't get home until about 7:15. I live in La Mesa, and like I said before its a 16 mile drive.

There was one other time where it took me 2 Hours but that was because I was taking the 52 and a car flew off one of the embankments that are there when you are coming up to Santee as you go down that steep hill. That stopped traffic for a while too.

The skinny one or the fat one?

Technically shes not fat, but the larger of the 2.

I went out w/ her for a couple months and then broke up, and I've hung out w/ her a few times since, and she is just really immature.

When we were together she kept mentioning how she'd like to be with someone around her same age, because she was 29 and I was 22, but the handful of times we have hung out w/ eachother since then, she definitely doesn't act her age.

Count Zarth

Back in '90, my wife and drove to Anaheim to go to Disney (I had a free 4 day, 3 night stay at the Anaheim Hilton). We drove down I-5 to get there (from Salem, OR). On the way home, we desided it would be nice to drive up the coast. We got out later than we wanted and got stuck in the LA traffic getting out. This put us behind schedule and caused us to get to San Fransisco at 4pm (on a Friday afternoon). :banghead:

What a nightmare. It took four hours to get through SF. I had no idea that the highway went right through downtown SF. No way I could put up with that traffic, which I am sure is much worse now.

OK, that was a slight exaggeration, but don't forget the speed limit is 75 mph on this side of the river. :D

Flew into Tampa for a meeting in Central Florida few years back.... Only thing was Hurricane George was coming as well .... Needless to say the entire city of Tampa was moving North by the time I arrived. Took me 5 hours to go from the airport rental car to Lakeland, FL 40 miles away. 40 freaking miles.

:shake: :grr: :cuss:

All for not though the storm ended up going more North and missed Tampa. Saw some nice storms from the hotel .... Funnels and Tornadoes in the distance. Wife called my cell phone frantic to see if I was ok, not understanding her concern I was like "Yeah I am fine, why?" I guess Lakeland had made CNN with the twisters going on and had video of stuff that was going down.

Being from the Mid-west and living in Tornado alley it was not that big of deal for all the warnings and such, so a few of us went outside the hotel to look and see. The folks from San Diego where freaking out however, trying to get us inside even though we were safe where we were at.

No side roads you can take?

On the way to work I almost never stay on the HW because I know there will be a jam. Just get off on one of the exits and use the side roads.

I think google maps can tell you a route that avoids the highway and I bet it would be faster than an hour if you do live 16 miles away.
