Call his own offense from the sidelines instead of hiring an OC? Just a thought, I would love to see Chan get another year as OC. I think he did very good last year based on the cards he was dealt during the season.

i don't think he WANTS to call his own plays in his first year has Head Coach.

maybe later after he's settled in ... but not now

I think it is time to make Chiefsplanet a communist regime, allowing only people with 10,000 posts to be thread starters....signed

No. Maybe just don't open the thread if you don't know the name. Or how about not wasting twice as much time by replying if reading such threads is so bad.

Not a chance.

He left the possibility open today. However, he was also quite careful to acknowledge that he expects to have his hands full as head coach and his attendant responsibilities for the entire team - not just the offense. Ergo, I'm going with ... maybe.

I think he hires an OC, but Haley might still call the plays. Isn't that when Ken did with Todd his first year? Todd was on the sidelines last year calling plays too anyways instead of up in the booth.

I think that was their arrangement in the early going, Mr. RustShack. I think you're right.

Personally, I'm hopeful that Big Head Todd will show some discretion on this deal since it's his first go 'round as a head coach. Hire an OC and let them work the offense. If needs must, he can always overrule a call during battle. But, he needs to be able to oversee the entire effort on both sides of the ball and those games go by fast when you're on the sideline. I just don't want him to bite off more than he can spit out.

I think the Chiefs will run some offensive plays. Run some, Pass some.

I think it should be 500 or 1000. 10 thousand posts just means you are a loser

I think Haley has made it perfectly clear that he is not going to be running the offense. He is going to be overseeing the whole team, making the overall decisions when they need to be made.

He might call his own plays...but even the head coaches that do call the plays still have offensive coordinators...

My guess is he's Marlboro Chief trying not to give himself away before he gets enough posts to start posting porn pics again.

Or he's just a dumbass.

After watching that presser I doubt he keeps Chan Gailey on the staff.
