So I get on my computer today and I apparently have a virus. It seems to affect Mozilla more than IE. I am putting this here because I cannot navigate easily to other pages, they dont load fully or at all realy, just a bunch of broken boxes.

What is interesting is my computer will not open any of the virus scanning programs, such as Malwarebytes. So, this blows. Any ideas for me... thinking about dumping antifreeze inside my computer case at this point.

Thanks.

Open up IE, go to TrendMicro and run House Call.

Can you boot to an older restore point? Hit F8 at bootup and choose last known good configuration? It's possible that one of your older restore points isn't infected. If you can boot to an older restore point, and then do a scan or 3, you might be OK.

If that won't work, and it won't run any virus scan apps that are already installed on the machine, then you'll likely need to scan the drive from another machine. Like physically removing the drive from the infected computer, attaching it to another computer, and doing a full scan on it that way. Scan for viruses, spyware, and malware. And turn off System Restore before you do this. If system restore is turned on, and the information within the system restore is infected, then a scanner won't be able to clean it. Turn System Restore off before scanning or removing the drive from the machine.

That sucks.. I had a Worm that kept replicating itself over and over and over.. I installed Norton antivirus while it was actively replicating itself and it took several scans but it eventually fixed it.

UPDATE:

Alright, so I stole this sweet laptop from a coffee shop today, and attached my harddrive to it and scanned it....

Not really.

I am still fucking with this son of a bitch. The MS antispyware 09 shit is almost all gone, if not all the way, but I cannot remove the registry files because it or another virus turned off/copied over the registry edit file. BUT, my computer did its auto update today as well and installed SP3, so that might have caused some regedit issues as well.

After toiling for a while it is running a bit better, but not for the amount of time I have put into this. I am going to take the HD out tomorrow most likely and hook it up to my other cpu and clean it out that way... or infect the other...
