LMAO I found this on some website and thought I would share.
a long long time ago
i can still remember
how i trusted government to do what was right
i believed if i played by the rules
worked real hard and stayed in school
there was nothing i couldn’t do
but september made me shiver
when congress sold us down the river
bad news on the doorstep
they said we couldn’t take one more step
the politicians began to cry
and said everything was falling from the sky
but something angered me deep inside
the day, I found out, they lied
so bye, bye miss american dream
they risked our money on some funny investment schemes
and then good ‘ole boys that were the cause of the crash
singing they got away with the cash
they got away with the cash
were you fooled just like me
and did you vote for bush ‘43?
And did you really believe?
that he would fight for conservative goals
stand tall for our values and be bold
and save our country’s mortal soul
well i know that some still stand by him
’cause i saw them voting in the gym
they kicked off their shoes
’cause they dig the red, white and blue
they said we might be down to out last buck
no loans to buy even a pick-up truck
but I knew we were out of luck
the day i found out they lied
so bye, bye miss american dream
they risked our money on some funny investment schemes
and then good ‘ole boys that were the cause of the crash
they’re singing they got away with the cash
they got away with the cash
helter skelter in summer swelter
politicians looked around for shelter
out on a limb and falling fast
they rolled out a bill that didn’t float
and found out they didn’t have the votes
when the people cried out from the coast
and i watched them on that political stage
and my hands were clenched with fists of rage
they sold us down the drain
and we could feel the pain
jefferson, adams, and monroe
warned us–”don’t let government grow!”
and if they were here they’d say “we told you so”
the day, they found, out they lied
bye, bye miss american dream
they risked our money on some funny investment schemes
and then good ‘ole boys who were the cause of the crash
singing they got away with the cash
they got away with the cash
