Thigpen

2009

Cassell
Thigpen
Croyle

All of a sudden, one of our roster's worst positions is now one of our deepest.

Cassell is a proven starter in this league, although exactly how good he is, as of now, is still a question mark.

Thigpen is obviously a solid backup, who with a little more experience can ably perform his duties without much of a significant dropoff. He's commanded the offense to a decent showing last season, so his teammates trust him. And he's very durable.

Croyle is probably exactly what you want in a third stringer. The ability is all there. So is some okay experience. He's not going to light anybody on fire but when you're down to your third stringer, nobody does. He's not going to be able to take much of a beating, but you can adjust your offense at that point.

Advantage: Haley over Edwards, Pioli over Peterson.

By the way -- has any team in NFL history EVER had two 7th round picks atop their QB depth chart?

Croyle will end up cut.

My guess is Pioli drafts another QB somewhere in this draft.

You don't think they'll keep Croyle around for his last year? What's the harm in it?

The harm is he sucks. Time to give up that pipe dream. Hes a waste of roster space.

I think if the team looks at Brodie Croyle's skills they might be tempted to keep him around but then when you look at his chances of making it through the season healthy, I hope that they would reconsider that option.

He doesn't have to make it through the season healthy.

He's the third stringer.

He just has to survive.

Pioli's a fan of project Qb's it seems. Brody has the tools, needs to work on his strength so he is more durable but he could improve.

if this is the case Look for John Parker Wilson, or Mike Reily in the mid to late rounds.

Hope not, he's horrible. Undersized, weak arm, not very athletic, cracks under pressure.

Croyle is a waste of a roster spot.

DeezNutz
03-01-2009, 09:44 PM
There's no depth there.

We have one legit (we think) QB: Cassel.

Thigpen? Will he still need a gimmick offense? Croyle? Are you fucking kidding me? He just got hurt reading his name in this post.

QB is still an area of need for this team.

I'm meh on who our third stringer will be, but I wouldn't be suprised to see Croyle cut. The guy just can't stay healthy, period.

Our thrid will probably be some 6th or 7th round pick.

How many games? If it is two, I'm taking the under.

The 3rd string QB is always a developmental player. There is no reason what so ever to keep him on the roster.

Croyle is going to be selling insurance sooner rather than later. He needs to develop that.

This.

If you are down to your 3rd QB, you at least want to be able to finish a game.

Two? Are you talking quarters? That's a more accurate measure.

Croyle has had a great run. Made some decent change and married a hottie.

But you've identified his future career path, I'm afraid.

To the Chiefs? Probably none. However, as Croyle is not likely to see the field at all, I'd say that his chances of suffering a severe, debilitating spinal trauma only go from 'dead effing certain' to 'more than likely'.

Bill worked in a pickle factory.
He had been employed there for a number of years when he came home one day to confess to his wife that he had a terrible compulsion.
He had an urge to stick his penis into the pickle slicer.
His wife suggested that he should see a sex therapist to talk about it, but Bill said he would be too embarrassed. He vowed to overcome the compulsion on his own.

One day a few weeks later, Bill came home and his wife could see at once that something was seriously wrong.

'What's wrong, Bill?' she asked.

'Do you remember that I told you how I had this tremendous urge to put my penis into the pickle slicer?'

'Oh, Bill, you didn't' she exclaimed.

'Yes, I did.' he replied.
'My God, Bill, what happened?'
'I got fired.'

'No, Bill. I mean, what happened with the pickle slicer?'

'Oh...she got fired too.'

Croyle needs to go to the AFL if he wants to continue playing competitive football...

Or go back to his home town, start a company, then coach his HS team or something....

I'm telling you the kid's got it. Draft him as a backup and develop him then boom another option to go as a starter.
