so, i'm going to a meeting today and tomorrow in booneville at the casino.
another guy i'm meeting down there has tickets to the eagles tonight in columbia. want's me to go w/him.

i wouldn't mind the concert. i just don't like the crowds. especially on st. patricks day/night.

i actually planned on a few beers, supper, then retire to my room w/a bottle of crown and a can of 7up.

i know if i go to the concert, i'll drink too much. then when i get back to the casino, i'll drink more. of course, someone will start buying rounds of shots, and i will partake. then tomorrow morning, i'll sit in the meeting, holding my head in my hands, with my asshole burning like a corncobbed cat.

the wife says i should go. i need to make up my mind.

The Eagles... I've seen 'em in 1975 in DesMoines fair grounds (festival seating). 1977 at Cominski Park (old WhiteSox park) w/Joe Walsh. Great shows. Depending on seats If you haven't seen 'em do it.... Temper drinkin' with Water to hydrate, take ibuprofen before bed time (with water)

i saw them in the '70s, and it was a great show.
i haven't been to a concert w/o mrs. sec since 1981. we usually hit one every year for our anniversary. it'd feel kind of funny.

i'm not really miserable...just not really a big crowd type of person. plus, i'm a frequent sleepwalker, and back when i was younger, heavy drinking made it worse. i usually limit myself to just a few beers/drinks, then lock myself in my hotel room.

i'll have a good time.

okay, take some pictures though, because if you get to the point where you are dancing nekkid on the tables or passed out on the black jack tables, we, concerned members of CP, need to see it so that we can help.

ROFL The Chiefs under Carl/Herm were Lawrence Welk and the Bubble Machine Orchestra.

Now that we're moving along again, I think we can upgrade to 'Muddy Waters'.

I remember after the FIRST Gulf War when the troops came back to Ft.Riley they had a FREE concert on post and Joe Walsh was the main attraction.

The dude rocked out as far as I can remember but he was so WASTED that he kept forgetting words to his songs.

This would have been back in 1991 around August IIRC. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the band that played with him as the warm up?

I've seen them three times - they put on a great show. Their performances during the Hell Freezes Over tour back in the 90s was the best concert I ever saw.

If you can handle being surrounded by drunken concert idiots who will bellow out the words to every song, you should go. But be prepared for that. It annoyed the fuck out of me last time I saw them.

If they aren't doing 1st-3rd LP songs it's not old stuff. got lost after that or commercial records took over.

Joe Walsh... would have been worth it for old stuff too with James Gang.

again revisionist approach that maybe wouldn't sell to younger crowd.

Ironically, I thought the best two songs they did off Hell Freezes Over weren't Eagles songs, either. They did acoustic versions of Henley Heart of the Matter and Walsh's Help Me Through the Night that were simply amazing.

they played about an hour and a half. a few off they're latest album.(since i use the term "album" i guess i'm old)

took a 20-25 minute break.

came back a played for another 2 hours. started it off w/all of them sitting w/accoustic(sp) guitars. then just started mixing it all up.

like i said before, the music was great. the overall show was great.
