I hate UNC, so I would love that, but quite frankly UNC is too talented to lose to an 8/9 on what will basically be a home court.

WRITE IT DOWN

I dont think KU will make the Final 4 unless shit falls their way like MSU and Louisville both losing. I just dont see KU getting past those 2 teams.

And if we play Syracuse, might as well write that down as a loss, I cant remember the last time KU beat the Cuse.

2008-09 - KU loses to Cuse at Sprint Center in OT
2002-03 - KU loses to Cuse in NC game, thanks to a career game from fresh Gerry Macnamra
Last time I can remember them playing Cuse was in 1995-1996 when they lost to Cuse in Sweet 16 when they had John Wallace.

Someone please correct me on this, and if theyve played eachother since that 7 year period, or if KU's won against Cuse since then. Im just doing this off top of my head so I could be wrong.

03-18-2009, 12:46 PM
I don't trust Oklahoma, they remind me way too much of Iowa State in 2001.

As much as I hate to say it, UNC reminds me a lot more of the recent Florida championship teams than the choke-job teams Roy had at KU, but only time will tell I guess. LSU in the 2nd round is an upset waiting to happen, but its unfortunate the game will be played in greensboro.

Pittsburgh is likely to fall because a smart coach will get Blair into foul trouble.

Texas is a horrible matchup for Duke in the 2nd round, but Texas is so inconsistent I could easily see them losing to Minnesota in the 1st.

Syracuse is confusing - they were a good team all year long, and have 2 great guards, good coaching. But also went through hell to get to the Big East championship, and the last time they did that they ended up going down immediately in the Dance. They also have a rough first round game against Stephen F. Austin (my sleeper pick before the brackets came out). If they get past that first game, they could easily get to the F4, considering the top 2 seeds (UNC, OU) are decent upset picks (IMHO).

If KU makes the Final Four, I'm giving out $5 bills and hand jobs starting at 5pm the next day.

I picked KU almost by default in the Midwest region. I have Louisville (who I think is the biggest fraud in the tournament) losing to Ohio State in the second round. I have KU and Michigan State in a re-match from their regular season game in the Sweet 16, and I'm not very confident picking KU over Michigan State in the game... but I belive in the theory that it is difficult to beat a high profile non-conference opponent twice in the same season.

I am not very fond of them, but they have turned into for whatever reasons one of those smaller cinderella teams that has to shoot well and from the perimeter also. The first time that they do not get the ball in with a fairly high percentage they will be done.

You mut not watch a lot of ACC ball... they always have the intensity. The problem they have is when they run into a more physical or athletic team... i.e. teams like Virginia Tech or Memphis. Long armed teams that run and gun are the teams that give Duke fits

Champ-Louisville.

Four Big East teams... wow.

I put Memphis in the FF so I wouldn't have four Big East teams... Louisville, Pitt, and UNC being the other three. I have Pitt beating UNC. I'm surprised to see a lot of people picking UNC over Pitt... they could very well make it to the NC game, but I really don't think it'll happen if they have to go through Pitt. I have Memphis beating Louisville, and Memphis winning it all.

I'll probably change it... it's a little harder this year because I don't want to pick all Big East teams, but could see Louisville vs. Pitt. I don't want to throw all the Big 10 teams out early, since they generally do okay in the tourney, but it's a very mediocre conference.

If it wasn't in UNC's backyard, I'd be tempted to pick LSU or Butler over UNC in the second round. UNC is a much different team without Lawson.

Mizzou fans- fix yourselves. You're giving us a bad name with that deluded thinking. Yeah, have a bracket where they're in the Final Four-- it's fun. But for God's sake, if somebody asks you definitively, "Who will be in the Final Four", pick a better year to choose Mizzou. Our seeding is the product of beating on a weak Big 12. The full-press D works very well in regular season play, but has a horrid history in the tournament, save a couple UNLV and Arkansas teams. Our Asst/TO ratio is the second highest in the tourney, but we all know just how poorly Mizzou plays when it struggles to make shots. They just won't get past Memphis's smothering defense.

My Final Four: Louisville, Memphis, Pitt, UNC (only because of having OU upset in the Sweet 16)

You didn't ask for this, but here is what I have anyway:
Sweet 16: Louisville, Wake, kU, Michigan State, UConn, Purdue, Mizzou, Memphis, Pitt, Wisc (yup), Nova, Duke, UNC, Ill, Az St., OU

Levance Fields is damn near 4:1, which is ASTOUNDING.

They outrebound their opponents by a wide margin (I'll look up the figure if you really need to know, but it's something like +10).

Blair has been the only guy that can legitimately shut down any big man in the country, Thabeet included. I don't think he'll have to see Griffin, but I have total faith that he'd get the job done.

Sam Young is a great inside-outside guy that will flourish in the tourney.

I really dont think that any team is head and shoulders above the rest.
