Yes, just reported by Liz McDonald on Fox Business. AIG has been spending millions of $'s to try and keep 95 pieces of art that I guess Hank Greenburg had bought or whatever. They have to return the art to whoever but nonetheless, this is how our tax $'s are being spent by these fuckers.

Ok, they essentially have been spending the money in court trying to fight the reposession of said Art. Either way.....I say BS.

They're entitled to that art, it was contractual. [/patteeu]

This goes to show that it's never about the money, but what individuals value.

Now just what is wrong with artwork?

Depending on what, artwork is an(can be) investment.

Meh, that money's already down the drain. It's probably better than some of the stuff the National Endowment for the Humanities would spend our tax dollars to buy.

I dont see the outrage here. Someone basically sued AIG to take away some valuable artwork. If it belongs to AIG, or if AIG has some kind of monetary interest in it, what do you expect them to do? Just let it go for free?

It would have been an irresponsible waste of taxpayer dollars for them to NOT assert ownership of the artwork. Now, what they should do with it is another story, sell it off and send the proceeds back to the taxpayers? Sure, but if you think about it, WE apparently own some interest in that artwork, you want to just give it away?
