I'm bored at work....so I'll throw out some trade down opportunities. Choose a trade down opportunity and then list who you would take in the first 3 rounds.

Our #3 for:

Bengals - Trade up to take best available OT at #3 (Assuming Detroit takes Stafford.)

Jaguars - Trade up to take Stafford assuming that OTs go 1 and 2.

49ers - Same as Jaguars.

Jets - Same as Jags and 49ers.

Eagles - Same as Bengals.

Poll to follow.

Who would the Eagles want at #3?

I like that scenario the best because it would be essentially like four picks in the first 53.

One of the LTs? Monroe or Smith depending on who fell to us at #3.

I see the only way that we can really trade down is if either of these two scenarios happened.

Detroit - Matthew Stafford QB
St. Louis - Jason Smith OT

or

Detroit - Jason Smith OT
St. Louis - Eugene Monroe OT

The first scenario would involve a trade down with a team who was looking for one of the elite OTs in the draft. Monroe and Smith being the top 2 and then there being a fall off to Oher or Smith.

The second scenario would involve a trade down with a team who was looking for a QB. That is unless we take Stafford at #3.

Stafford would guarantee the best return on a trade IMO. He'll have a good value at #3 and their are several QB hungry teams this year looking to move up. The Jaguars scenario is the best IMO.

That #2 from the Jets would be a first next year.

Just for shits and giggles....if we traded down with the Eagles for the above mentioned picks. I'd take:

#21 - Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC
#28 - Alex Mack, C, Cal
#53 - Ron Brace, NT, Boston College
#67 - Lawrence Sidbury, OLB/DE, Richmond

Why would you take the Jags over the Bengals? In each case you swap firsts and get a 2nd round pick. The Bengals pick is earlier in each round.

That would be sick, but give me Barwin instead of Brace, hope Brace is still there at 67(if Rey's there at 21 anythings possible)

To address the hypothetical trade scenarios, I'd trade with the Bengals.

#6 - Curry or Brown.
# 38 - Unger, Barwin or Britt.

we be stupid to not take that eagles deal, but the eagles would never go for that

If you took the Bengals deal, there's a shot you could still get Sanchez, recover your Cassel pick, and actually have a franchise QB and a second round pick, while being able to flip Cassel for more assets down the line.

I want us to draft Stafford at 3, then flip Cassel for a mid-low 1st rounder we could trade down to pick up a few extra picks.

Pipe dream I know.

This poll is a perfect example of how people are stupid.

Two people voted to take #8 and #39 instead of #6 and #38. :spock:

Six people voted to take a deal that returns 1830 points instead of 2120 points. :stupid:

Out of the provided options, the ONLY one that makes (some) sense and the, unquestionably, BEST of the options is to trade with the Bengals.

Taco John and Garcia Bronco?

The worst value would be the deal with the Jets, not the Jags.

I think it is time we all come to the realization that if we are able to trade down, we are not going to get and equal value of the magical draft value chart. That said, obviously, # 6 and 38 are better than #8 and 39.

we have to get 2 picks for moving....

based solely on the chart, we should get a 2nd and a 4th for dropping 3 spots (and that's cheap for a QB)...

even if we have to take "less" we should get a 5th out of it...

Either the 1st option or the last. Imo the 49ers and Jags don't give enough.

I like the Bengals trade down then trade down again with the Jags or Philly if we can

Not to sound too much like Red Foreman, but who are the dumbasses who votes for trading the #3 pick for the #8 and #39 picks instead of the #6 and #38 picks?

I don't care if someone doesn't understand multivariable calculus, but how about some basic math?

I voted for the bengals trade and would still do that.

I'd grab Brown and Barwin

Why not the Bengals #6 and #38 so they get a LT and then the 49ers #10 and #43 so they can get Stafford ahead of the Jaguars.

Then while we are on a roll, trade #10 with Philly, who is reported to be looking to trade up, for #21 and #28

#21
#28
#38
#43

Even worse, there is one person who would settle for nothing more than the #10 and #43.

Really?

Should have made it a public poll.
