Good news -

Just got some Jack Stack delivered to my work in Phoenix. My mom bless her sent me some beef and pork burnt ends, some pork ribs, beans and cheesy corn along with bbq sauce.

Bad News -

Mandatory meeting at work basically boiled down to this - They're shutting down our office by July 20th. :(

At least you have good bbq to eat while you update your resume.

Seriously, that really sucks, but at least your company was respectful enough to give you so much notice to try and find something else. On the flip side, they're hoping you find something so they get their unemployment contribution back.

I'd say the good outweighs the bad???

Any chance of a transfer or are you going to be on the street?

My suggestion is pillage as many office supplies as you can.

Oh I have. IF anyone on the Planet needs paperclips or a hole punch send me a message.

Been here barely a year, they said we could apply for jobs within the company but that means relocation to minnesota or some other state.

Some people would say the Burnt Ends were worth it.

Minnesota is cold. Make sure you buy a coat and by "coat" I don't mean a windbreaker or whatever it is you Arizona people put on in the middle of winter. It's a beautiful state in the summer though.

Sorry to hear about your job. Good luck finding something even better.

So, the economy in Minnesota ought to be pretty good. Seems like people who get laid off have to option of relocating there.

I moved from Phoenix to Iowa with a wardrobe full of tanktops and shorts. Buy a jacket first.

It's not really cold. Just take Phoenix and subtract 60 or 70 degrees.
