Yes, I'm going to turn off all the lights in the house tonight.

I may be on a different schedule than the Earth hour folks.

Can't be done if everyone on earth has to do it but some people don't. Not logical.

I doubt many people know of this for it to be effective. I hadn't heard of it until this thread. But it would be cool to see satellite pictures of the country in that hour compared to the same hour the previous night and see what the difference was. My prediction? Not much at all.

Tomorrow night at 8:30PM, not specific to time zones, so I guess my satellite of the country would not be possible.

Isn't there going to be NCAA basketball on then? I'm guessing this will go over like a lead zeppelin.

I think they were all connected so unless you've been hanging out with the thugs, you can at least turn some of your lights off.

sigh... Home invasions are my favorite.

Well, unless the cities agree to turn off building lights and street lights you would never notice from space.

I read somewhere that there are many major cities worldwide that are participating so there may be a visible difference. Since I will still be at work at that time, not much I can do to participate.

I turned off no lights and dug out some old aerospray cans and used them outside.

I have turned my lights off in all rooms except on my desk to save energy already anyway, but only because I'd rather have the money for the mall.

Every year they do this I make sure to turn on my lights. This year I had to make sure I didn't miss it since I was going to be out during 'earth hour'. So I had to turn on my lights before I left home. Next year I really need to rent the spot light. Although in CA I'd probably be lynched for doing it.

If its such a good idea to turn lights off on giant buildings in big cities, why dont they do it every night?

Everyone around the world should flush their toilets at the same time.
I predict. Armageddon.

Yeah, really lame. Lets pull some stupid publicity stunt instead of addressing the real issue.

In other news, muggings around the world went up for exactly one hour...
