The mrs and I and another couple were sitting there after ordering and some 45 minutes later we still hadn't gotten our food even though 3 other tables after us were already eating.

So I get up and go get a manager and want to know what the fock is going on and after they check find out "our ticket slipped" :cuss:

After apologizing 3-4 times they give us a free reese's peanut butter pie and comp all 4 of the breakfasts plus throw in an additional order of biscuits and gravy.

I like pie.

It was nice of them to comp the food, but was your server brain dead and not ask what was going on?

I go to the one in Olathe when I forget that its always 80 degrees in there for the old people, it takes a half hour to get your meal, and the muffins don't taste nearly as good as they look.

I ate at a Perkins a couple weeks ago. Never been to one before.

It wasn't that late, like 9:30 in the evening. Hardly anyone was there. I ordered a sandwich and a chocolate malt. 15 minutes after taking the order, the waitress comes back out and says they don't have the ingredients for the sandwich I ordered, so I have to pick something else. Meanwhile, the food of the person I'm with was ready.

Why the F did it take 15 minutes to realize they were out of roast beef or whatever it was? Especially when the place is empty? But whatever. I ordered some other sandwich... allegedly a club sandwich of some sort, but more like grilled cheese w/turkey on it, which was terrible. And the person I'm with sat there not eating their food because they didn't want to be rude.

So finally my awful grilled cheese turkey sandwich comes. Along with it is a big glass of chocolate milk. I had ordered a malt. So I'm like "I'll keep the milk, that's fine, but I'd still kinda like the malt". Since, you know, that's what I ordered.

10 minutes later, about 5 minutes after I finished picking at the awful sandwich and the lame fries, my malt came. How does it take 10 minutes to make a malt? Except it wasn't even a malt. It was a shake without the added ingredients that turn a regular old shake into a delicious malted drink.

To sum up, all I wanted from Perkins was a roast beef sandwich and a chocolate malt. I didn't get either. And they didn't offer me any free pie.

PERKINS = FAIL

This is what gets me in these types of situations, you'd think that they'd notice that something isn't right. Then again, that's probably why they're working late shift at a Perkins.

Perkins blows. Applebee's has bad service too. One night it took me 45 minutes to get a cheeseburger and a beer. And they didn't comp anything, just said "Sorry bout that, Chief." That's exactly what the guy said. No tip, to say the least.

Dude the Perkins in Sidney BLOWS. The bakery stuff is pretty good if you pre-order it and go in at a specific time to pick it up. The food is freaking terrible and the service is WORSE. And they don't care.

Good deal for you that you got some free shit out of it.

Go there for the bakery items (specifically french silk pie), but if I were you, I'd stay away from the food part.

Sometimes they won't let him go because he refuses to remove his ball cap. He is sent home without his supper.

It just blows my mind how that self-righteous cocksucker could ever say anything derogatory to anyone.

His life is the textbook definition of failure.

Just because people are in their 40's doesn't mean they quit going out for the night and having breakfast afterwards.

Like Phil said it was 2a.m."the drunk crowd" but according to another waitress who was very helpful our waitress had a large table come in shortly after us and got so caught up in the tip she was imagining that she basically forgot about us.

I don't know how they do things there but maybe that big tip (if she got it) went to pay for our pie.

Was this the same place you and I went to after the draft/Royals game/casino escapade last year? I seem to recall that being a debacle as well.

The Perkins in St. Joe is a trash bag full of dog vomit.

It f*cking sucks. The food isn't very good, the service is shit, and the 2 a.m. crowd is pretty spectacular sometimes.

Saw some 40-something methed out, tattooed out dude wearing a bandana get his lights punched out at on Grand Ave. outside the Ward last nite Nzoner.

They had an ACDC tribute band..it was a pretty good time. I opted for the 2 a.m. Taco Bell experience myself.

The crowd was quite spectacular last night, one large group had been to a B-day party with a 70's theme and were dressed in leisure suits and wearing afro wigs.

We started our day at The Ward for the Mizzou game and then against my better judgment went to the casino for 7 hours.

That band KC/DC is pretty decent,I saw them last go round,Chad and Sumo bring in some good music there.

I am sure that just about any restaurant will have a fail if you hit them at the wrong time. We love our Perkins here, but we got terrible service there once. It was with the same waiter we had a few weeks before that had excellent service.

Wife, son, and I ate at a Texas Roadhouse Friday night. When we got there they were packed and we were told it would be a 35-45 minute wait. Since we let my son pick I decided to just go sit by the barrel of peanuts and wait. We were only there about 5 minutes when our number was called. I thought that was pretty wierd and I bet the other 20 people sitting there waiting longer than us thought so to.

So we go sit down and order. Waitress was awesome. We'd never been there before so she explained everything very well. Did I mention she was hot too? Appetizers were awesome. My wife and son both ordered entrees but I was hungry for a burger so that's what I got.

Food came out quickly but when I cut the burger in half it was almost raw inside. When I got the waitresses attention she brought a plate and took the burger, leaving the fries. I thought, oh well, I'll get to eat my fries cold but within 5 minutes she came back with a complete new meal.

Had a good time, she took my meal off the bill, and the food was good. Needless to say I tipped her very well.

I try not to think about it, especially when I send something back.

You gotta wonder, can the economy really be that bad when there's a 35-45 minute wait to eat at a Texas Roadhouse?

Seems like the restaurant parking lots around here are always packed. Casinos too, or so I'm told. I guess the money that folks aren't spending on houses and cars is going to food and gambling instead.
