What NFL team has had the best off season up to this point?

Not really.

Other than possibly the coach, and maybe the QB, not a single acquisition we've made will be part of the team that competes for a championship.

Bears by a mile.

Who have they picked up other than Cutler and Pace?

I'm drawing a blank.

Not sure how that's important to THIS off-season.
That's the answer to a different question.

i.e. Whose off-season moves will yield the biggest long-term results?

Isn't that the point?

If you notice, the two other teams mentioned in this thread made their moves to compete now, AND in the future.

The Bears picked up a true franchise QB.

The Rams strengthened their OL, defensive backfield and WR corp with young talent.

We've added stopgaps that won't likely be here (or productive) in 2010.

Of the moves, yes.
Of the question, no.

But we can agree to disagree.

I believe that the influence players like Goff, Thomas, and Vrabel will have on younger players will last much longer than their tenures.

We don't know that ANY of these moves will lead to a championship run by any of the aforementioned franchises.

Uhhh...

I think we definately had the best offseason. Think about it. With Peterson and Herm no championship was possible.

Chiefs or Bears.

This. I agree that the guys we've picked up thus far won't help the Chiefs compete for a championship, but they will help pave the way for the change in attitude/work ethic/preparation to compete this year. Without that step, there is no hope for a championship.

Also, we're far from done IMO.

The Steelers in a landslide. They haven't needed to aquire much because they are already an excellant football team. That and the superbowl victory. i'm sure the taste of that last all offseason long.

Haven't the Steelers basically not done anything?

Well if they don't fix their offensive line Ben Roethlisberger is gonna talk about how those guys suck.

Yep. What a FABULOUS off season! Honestly, when you get rid of Herm and Carl and add Pioli and Haley - it doesn't get any better...Except when you factor in that Shanahan is gone and so is Cutler it makes me wonder if all the planets were aligned...:D
