I don't think Dayton Moore is a very good GM, so no, I would hope they aren't similar (don't know enough about Pioli yet to judge him).

I do think Pioli will be longer. In fact I would not be surprised if Dayton left the Royals after this year and tried to ckean up the mess in DC (with their baseball team not Congress). Other factors could be his mom (who lived in central KS) just died & his wife's parents live in Northern VA. Add to that his contract is up in 2010 and I think we see the Nats paying Glass $8-10M to buy Moore & possibly Hillman out.

What?! What?!? No, say it ain't so. I like Dayton. It'd be like starting all over. We're going up! We've almost reached the place where we can see the top.

I hope not. He's as good as we've had in quite a while.
