three of the weakest hits I've ever seen now

WilliamTheIrish

It was not a routine play. The scorer tends to give the benefit of the doubt to an infielder who has to get a hot shot with a short hop.

I dunno al, that was a big league play that big league 1b's make. Every day.

Missing a play does not lead to an error. It has to be pretty routine. Some scorers are brutal, but generally you dont punish a fielder for not making a great play.

Podsednik was out on strikes.

While I tend to agree...if we're going to say that than Jacobs should have struck out in his at bat...one of those pitches was a perfect strike and another one was pretty close.

Read a good point from someone else: Greinke's ERA is now 0.43

Thats probably more impressive than zero, because lots of pitchers have a zero ERA, but when you see 0.43, you know he's thrown a lot of innings.

Yes. I'd imagine if I was at a ballgame, not working, just trying to enjoy the game and some douche slides in next to me and carries on an awkwardly long interview I'd probably be a dick. I'm pretty sure the brevity of his answers was intended to let that dude know he didn't give a fuck about that little interview and wanted him to go away.

Instead, the reporter kept asking canned questioned 'blah blah blah..do you eat when you come to the ballpark?'

Fucking stupid.

That was him. Or it was a clone, but the voice wasn't that far off. There might be a little bit of a sound quality issue between commercials and tv shows and a ballpark interview ya know.

Leo was a workhorse who struggled in April, but always foud his groove in mid May. He was 20-12 with 21 complete games in 77 and 21-17 with 20 CG's in 78.

Buzz in 74 was 22-18 for a club that won 83 games with 20 CG's.

I knew when he struck out Thome he was coming with another fastball....that's how he pitches...he got him with two straight 4 seamers...and then on an 0-2 count he challenged the fuck out of him and blew a 96 MPH beauty right down the middle past him...it was awesome.

Geez. It was just last year that the Royals sucked. Give this town some time.

The fan base in KC has been decimated. I'd imagine there are Royals fans who will never get over the mental anguish from seeing the great Royals teams of the late 70's to the '85 season Championship Team through the laughingstock joke teams put on the field in the 90's through early 2000's.

Hell, when they traded away Johnny D. I washed my hands of the Royals because they truly had become the definition of a loser team with a slack ass loser management structure.

If they continue to play ball, pay their players and field a real team I'll come back to Royals stadium for the first time in over ten years.

I mean really, how can anyone go from watching George Brett in his prime, jacking three homers in the ALCS against Toronto and then watch more than a decade of shite!? I think they tried to kill the MLB market in KC and from reading some of the other threads some of you guys have bought into the "continuous rebuild" mentality which will never do anything but guarantee the end of a once proud franchise.
