It seems like just a little while ago that my daughter was born, now she graduates in 3 weeks.

Many of you have given me advice through the years and I feel she has grown up with the planet.

Just wanted to give a public shout out to my baby girl and for those of you who care, thanks for all the advice and for being a sounding board though out all the years.

I can't believe I have a HS graduate for a kid!!!

(and for those of you that don't care about family...don't read the post!) :p

It really isn't that difficult to graduate from HS.

Then why did it take me 12 years? Huh? Why???

Fruit Ninja

Not difficult, If i can do it and missed half of the school days, then anyone can do it. Granted my senior year i had to work my ass off to graduate. Had to do night school 4 days a week for pretty much the whole year, but i did it.

Honestly, i was more proud of that then anything. I could have easily said fuck it, but i actually applied myself in school for once. lol Another thing that is shocking is i actually read novels for book reports. I never ever did until my 12th year in HS. I had to do so many for extra credit. lol I was proud.

She is taking some AP classes and is scheduled to do Basic this summer then school then training next summer.

She decided on the Reserves and is doing a split entry? not sure if that is the right term but that lets her do basic then go to school then next summer continue training.

I am happy with this and not as scared as I was when she first started talking about the military.

One change tho ... she has switched her area of interest again. Back to the medical field...I can live with that.

The math in the Engineering scared her

50 seems like alot. Is that for the actual graduation, or the party?

I sent a bunch of graduation invites last week but they were just "gift-vites", to my family members.

I graduated with 325 people. We had a limit on the number of ceremony attendees we could have.

The more I think about this, the more I like it. Nobody in my family knows what I'm doing, so they shouldn't be surprised if I sent out graduation announcements.

It would have to be in something they would never need, though, so no law school or medical school. How about maybe a Ph.D. in medieval art history?

And do you think they'd still send money if the graduate is in his 40s? I'm not in this for congratulation cards.

Have you considered faking an illness? You could get a sandwich tray delivered to your spouse or something like that. The only other thing that comes to my mind is faking a "major award" from an award-granting institution, that may or may not exist.

Wait just a minute. You may be on to something here. We're closing in on our 20-year anniversary.

And now that you mention it, we eloped, so we didn't get any gifts the first time around other than our parents. Maybe it's time to fill in that gift gap.

Most kids know that their GF's dad can't legally do shit to them anyhow, so it's not like the "Your dad will kick my ass" angle holds any real weight when it comes to getting some suck n fuck.
