We had an extra-inning game get suspended today, which doesnt happen very often. When a game is rained out it usually gets cancelled and rescheduled (before the game becomes official in the 5th) or someone wins if it is official. The Washington-Houston game was tied in the top of the 11th when it got washed out, which means they had to suspend it. That game will be played at the exact same score and situation (top of the 11th, tied 10-10) on July 9.

Davis could use a good start here. At some point, we'll need to figure out what to do with 3-5 in the rotation.

If he would just not throw the ball in the dirt his pitches would have a much better chance of being strikes.

Just a thought.

I don't mind Davis as much as some. Sure he's not the best, but I've heard way worse game calls. As far as the rotation, Davies and Bannister are confidence guys and can be solid in the middle to back end. Ponson though is another story.

That Texas game was the beginning of this bad stretch. He got out of a bunch of jams, but walked 5. He's been inconsistent in and out of the zone since, and it's being reflected in his numbers. This is the Davies that the world has known outside of last September and the first 2 starts this year. He really needs to right the ship, or he could easily devolve back into Davies, Quadruple A starter.

Greinke pitched a CG last night. This is the perfect time to use the bullpen.

That brings up an interesting point, though. Why not have your number 2 starter pitch in the 3 spot? That way, your bullpen tends to get a rest on days when your 1 and 4 spots are pitching and are fresh for days when your 2, 3 and 5 are pitching?

Rules of being a baseball fan

Rule #1: Do not hop off the bandwagon no matter how rough it gets, for how long it gets. Anyone who went to a few games or spent effort watching or listening to several games last year qualifies.

Rule #2: If you are sitting near the wall and the other team hits a foul ball your way, GET THE F*CK BACK! You can try to grab the foul ball after they miss the catch.

The other rules are less important, but violating rules #1 or #2 disqualifies you from being a good fan.

petegz28

When you sit near the wall, you take on a special responsibility as a fan to be aware of the game situation when a ball comes your way. People in the 4th row can be forgiven for not knowing whats going on and grabbing anything coming to them, but you cant make that mistake at the wall.

Unless you are facing a closer you are almost better off just letting the pitch go unless it is right down the pipe. For some reason over the last few years it has become this thing to throw a ball on 0-2 that isn't even close. And it's almost money to bet the count will go 0-2 to 1-2
