Mr. Flopnuts
05-07-2009, 01:42 PM
How is it that you're a Chiefs fan, but you like all other Seattle/Washington teams? Just curious.

I was born in KC and raised by rabid Chiefs fans. While we've always rooted for the Royals, my family was never crazy about them like the Chiefs. So the Chiefs stuck, and the others not so much.

Honestly, the only team I bleed with are the Chiefs. I like the Seattle teams enough, but I'm only truly passionate about football. The Huskies are easily my 2nd favorite sports team. But that's Husky football more than anything else. Even if they did go 0-11 last year..........

Of course if Jacobs keeps swinging at pitches like that then Gordon will find life at 1st base.

Butler's doing a good enough job at 1st, I would think Gordon would replace Jacobs in the 1st/DH rotation.

Or we could put Teahen in the OF, Gordon at 3rd, and Guillen would go to DH. Its nice being so flexible, but I'd be nervous that going to the OF would hurt Teahen's bat (again)

It would certainly be nice to average 30,000 a game without promoting the other team's stars and accomplishments or giveaways to the fans.

If the Royals stay at this level, the fans will come back. I believe that.

his ERA is a little low since he's given up 7 runs but only 4 have been earned.

seems like typical Banny - when he does well its a struggle, when he does bad he gets fuggin rocked.

WilliamTheIrish

I disagree with the reaction to sending Teahan. He's a good baserunner, it took a perfect throw to get him and Seattle got it.

You have to challenge the arm in that situation. The real bonehead move was Butler getting hung out like he'd never seen a the 5-3 pickoff move before.

That was enbarrassing.

I want Owen to be aggressive as hell at 3rd base. This isn't slow pitch station to station ball.

Yes, as recently as Tuesday. That's why he didn't even warm up for the extra innings game with Chicago.

Did he say his shoulder was sore?

I would assume so. He didn't even warmup 2 days ago in the extra inning game against the twins. It would have been a good spot to use him in the top of the 9th 10th or 11th but instead they opted to have Jamey Wright pitch 3 innings. If he doesn't even warm up in that situation something is wrong.

Have you ever seen a pitcher try to actually pick someone off of third base? I don't think I ever have. So how could someone on first base not know what is going on when the pitcher fakes a throw to third base?

Have you ever seen a pitcher try to actually pick someone off of third base? I don't think I ever have. So how could someone on first base not know what is going on when the pitcher fakes a throw to third base?

Steve Busby was the best I've ever seen at doing that move....

It's even more fun when the whole town realizes baseball is back. We're almost to that point, if not there already.
