They have a lot of sketches where they do the sketch every week and it's the same joke. Debbie Downer, the one-up woman, etc. Done once, it's kind of funny. Done 20 times, I'm watching Leave It To Beaver reruns on Nick at Night.

This, only because people still quote it. It wasn't that funny when it came out, and it sure as hell isn't funny now.

Any one of the sketches where Jimmy Fallon laughs at his own jokes.

i wonder if you asked the creators of more cowbell if they had a chance to do it all over they wouldn't now people just remember that song just for more cowbell, when it is a solid song.

Toonces the Driving Cat

:D My dad nicknamed my brother Toonces for a while after he got in our truck when he was about three years old and somehow drove it across the street and smashed it into a car.

Mary Catherine Gallagher. That Catholic schoolgirl that smelled her armpits. That sketch was annoying and boring as hell. The castmember that played her was one of the most unfunny untalented people on the show ever.

The stupid one where Chris Kattan played some kind of creature that jumped on tables and would spit the apples all over the place- sucked. I hated those skits.
And the Mike Myers one where he played the Jewish lady that said, "I'm getting verklempt." Those should have ran once and that would have been it. Actually I always thought Wayne's World was over-rated too.

I'd say, in terms of overrated SNL, I'd have to go with the overweening reverence for the early years. I'd posit that it's the selective memory where you recall all the classic bits as a whole, as opposed to being parceled out in dribs and drabs amidst more pedestrian stuff.

Thats probaly my fave era of SNL ever. late 80's/early 90's.

So many greats: Carvey/Myers/hartman/Sandler/Farley/Tim Meadows, etc.....

This plus those target ones with Kristin Wiig, or really any skit with Wiig as the lead. She should be in thread about Bands whose songs all sound the same, except actors whose acting is always the same regardless the role.

Ferrell is like hot sauce; too much and you can't enjoy the food.

Church Lady, anything with John Lovitz, Toonces, Jimmy Fallon and anything he ever did on SNL. I personally don't like Lazy Sunday. Keeeeeevin Makin Cooooopies, Stuart Smalley - still can't believe they made a movie about that character, it was ****in terrible. Mary Catherine Gallagher, Cheerleaders, Mango, Brian Fellows......there are more I can't think of

Colin Quinn as the news guy really blew ass IMO.

They made a movie about Mary Catherine Gallagher too. Colin Quinn did suck as the news guy, especially since Norm McDonald was so funny at it.
