The audacity of similarity!

I was thinking Vince Vaughn myself, at least as of late, with his roles in Old School, Fred Claus, Wedding Crashers, The Break Up, its all the same type of fast talking sarcasm, which isn't a bad thing but it is very similar.

An easy answer would be Dane Cook. Adam Sandler is another one, but there are two types of Adam Sandler, theres Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore Sandler, then there's Big Daddy and Mr. Deeds Sandler.

I think it should be said that actors who attempt to have range, doesn't necessarily make them a great actor and there are some great actors with limited range.

example, Eddie Murphy has great range, does that make him a great actor? no.

Viggo Mortenson is usually similiar in some way in each role, but he is a great actor.

I really don't understand. Bad Boys, I Am Legend, Pursuit of Happyness.. They're all different roles and He did great in every one of them. People just love the charismatic, high-flying, witty Will Smith. That's why He tends to be cast in those types of flicks and why every one of His movies does well in the box office... "Raising Arizona" is an awesome flick!! Nicholas Cage's character diversity was born b/c of that movie. It was the same w/ "Peggy Sue Got Married". That movie, however, was a huge disappointment. But not b/c of his acting, it was like someone regurgitated all over the script.

Almost all of them

EXACTLY. An actor who completely disappears in a role is extremely rare. This does not mean the rest are not good actors. It's not just getting unrecognizable that makes a great actor. It's also how you sell the role while being recognized. Morgan Freeman is essentially Morgan Freeman in all of his movies, but he plays any role from POTUS to janitor and from God to a villain and sells it very effectively. That's the mark of a great actor.
