Of course I lay some of that on coaching. Nothing preventing them from making him take a few pitches. At least until you get a strike on you.

Once Ramirez gave up the lead he should have stayed in the game. If you are going to take him out, you take him out before he gives up the lead. This is stupid. If he ties the game and there are no outs and two guys on base? Fine, take him out. Don't take him out with two outs and a guy on first.

For the record, the Royals should not be buyers in the trade market. The Tigers are proving that last year was an aberration. They're going to run away with this division while the other teams scrap to hover around .500.

I just don't understand it. I don't claim to be a baseball expert but it just doesn't make sense. Generally batters do better against a pitcher the more they see them. That is part of the reason why a pitcher might struggle the 3rd time through the batting order.

So why in the **** would you go back to Jamie Wright after Cleveland bitch slapped him last night?

Why,Why,Why? :cuss:

I'm not a baseball guru by any means so maybe one of you guys can aswer this, how in the fock does this team beat Toronto 3 of 4 and play so well during the beginning stretch and completely fall apart.

I mean I could see a stupid error here and there etc. but this is focking laughable.

Any comments appreciated.

My philosophy regardless of sport is that a team will ultimately reflect the mentality of the head coach

I think we have to come to the realization that the Royals have no shot at the playoffs this year. Not with the express train that is other wise known as the Detroit Tigers playing like they are, and not with NY or Boston getting the wild card with 92 wins.

Wow. I thought the comeback win Tuesday night would be a springboard to a good run, not a launchpad to disaster.

That was just getting us sucked back in to invest a little more time and money in this team. Just enough to get our hopes up to have them crushed again but this shitbag Hillman and his band of windmills and poor fielders. Guillen for what he is doing at the plate is costing us as much with his lack of range in the OF. We have a team with too many DH types and not enough balance. Wouldn't it be nice to actually have and OF that could move to the ball and an infield that understood how to play routine grounders or pop ups. It would be great to have a manager that actually might look at platoon splits and understood they do have validity. Too many problems with this team to be a contender. It was all smoke and mirrors and one really fine pitcher.

I got a silly question. When a relief pitcher performs poorly, is it EVER the pitcher's fault, or is it always the manager's fault for failing to predict the future? This isnt exactly a Farnsworth on opening day situation here.

but but George said he is a fine baseball man very well respected throughout the league and was sought after to coach the Yankees :)

What has Mayhay shown at all this year to make you think he would not give up runs?

Of course it is but at this point Treys poor decsions earlier lead to him having to use the entire bully so Trey can take some of this blame.

It's a combination of things.

The biggest is that Hillman just isn't a very good manager at times. He makes too many mistakes for a "small ball, win with pitching team".

That, coupled and the errors in the field, have killed us.

Another huge issue right now is that Moore GROSSLY overestimated the run production we would get from this team. We needed another bat (Dunn), but instead he panicked on the bullpen situation and overpaid for Farnsworth.

Honestly, I'm probably at the edge of just not caring anymore. Making mistakes is one thing, but making these types of mistakes when you have the best chance to contend in years is unacceptible.

If Glass, George Brett and the organization are happy with Hillman's performance and in-game managing - they can have him. There are much better ways I can spend my time, energy and money.

I would venture to say that Dunn wouldn't have 12 dongs yet with the royals seeing new pitchers less fastballs in the american league

Not with this team.

Constant lineup changes
Bad postioning of outfielders
Terrible situational baseball managment
Bad baserunnin (coaches sending or not sending runner)
Bad managment of pinch hitters and runners

I could have some hope IF these guys were playing fundamentally sound baseball,I'm not saying you can't have an error here and there but I've only missed a couple of games this season and during this slump I can't even begin to count all the BS plays and stupid decisions I've seen and it all began with Guillen misplaying the fly ball in Anaheim

Yes we are one if not the worst fielding teams in the league. This was known going into spring training. The fact our strikeout/innings was off was so good was masking our team. Just imagine Teahen at second. We are going to be 500 by memorial day that is with 3 starters spending stints on the DL and 1 elite closer on the DL. That is pretty damn good couple that with we got arms and talent in the minors now, man looks pretty good to me.

some of that is due to the ball park it is rather large Butler would have had 5 or 6 more home runs playing in other staduims

Figure this, though: I don't see how we can continue to strand as many runners as we have, and over a quarter of our games were decided by one run or less. So if we start winning those games instead of losing them, we can be contenders. IE please stop stranding runners.
