What'd you think of this film?
I finally saw it last week and I absolutely hated it.
Took entirely too long to unravel. Seemed contrived and worked too hard at being a tear-jerker. I still had questions after the film was over. Am I just crazy or did anyone else feel the same way about it?

The film also further established just how average an actor Will Smith is in my eyes.

Yea, it would have been a better movie with a white actor. :)

Smith's grossly overrated in my opinion.
He doesn't have much range. His best on-screen performances came in what were essentially biopics.

He was born to play Muhammad Ali.
That was an amazing portrayal and arguably his finest moment in film.
But the average Will Smith flick just doesn't do it for me.

I thought it was OK. Just like I am Legend, I went in with very low expectations, which probably helped.

I thought the name was appropriate, because he went off with seven pounds worth of $100,000 bank notes in his pockets.

Hes probably rated about right. Hes got "It" and "charisma" which is why hes rich.

Yea, he was great in Ali.

Most movie star types "The A Listers" are not the best actors.

Words cannot describe how much it sucked and yet so many people "loved" it.

Roger Ebert's review comes closest to my take: too predictable which I wouldn't mind if it was done well, which it wasn't.

Have not seen it.. But from what I can tell from the previews and name of the movie, it is about him giving up his organs??

I thought the movie was compelling but poorly cast.

He's the most bankable actor in Hollywood, but he's never been all that impressive to me.

I'd take Denzel, Tom (Hanks), and Samuel over him every time.
He has the right look so he's a better fit more often than not, but talent-wise he pales in comparison.

I love Will Smith. My only complaint about his movies is that they all seem the same: he is the action hero, fighting aliens or something (Independence Day, I Robot, Men In Black, ...). Bleh. Seven Pounds was a good film, and Will Smith did a great job. I don't usually watch dramas, but this one was alright.
