what a bizarre game. look at all the things that have happened today:

hochevar pitched a good game.
dejesus caught a ball on the warning track instead of turning around 7 different ways while it flies over his head and/or bounces off his glove.
teahen got a hit that actually mattered.
royals scored 5 runs in one inning.
royals got hits with runners in scoring position.
farnsworth got an out in a crucial situation.

Also Cito rivaled Hillman in stupidity today by not pinch hitting for his backup catcher, Raul Chavez, late in the game. Nothing new for Cito, though. It wouldn't bother me one bit if they fired the guy, but he's a Toronto icon.

Man, can we trade, Teahen and DDJ and a prospect for this Scuturo?

This is the epitome of a pete post. Teahen hits a game tying homer and DDJ makes a nice catch against the wall and pete wants to trade them both for another "solid" player. This is why WTI tells you to shut up.

Well, since they only do those things every 3 or 4 weeks, can we find some players that can do those things at least once a week??

Not the point. Those guys have their bad at bats like every other player in the majors but they're two of the better players on the team. Teahen's getting better all the time but people would rather just make a knee jerk reaction cause if they're wearing Royals uniform they must suck. If people are so horrified by the team why bother starting game threads. Seriously there are 29 other teams to follow if you (he, they) hate the Royals so much.

Someone mentioned it yesterday i think..and ive mentioned it several times before...

Teahen and DDJ are "ok" players. They both have their moments, but they should be surrounded by "Superstar" talent. The Royals and alot of fans are under the mistaken impression they will develop into "franchise" type talent, and thats just never going to happen.

I stand corrected. Marco Scutaro is worth trading them both for after all. That's why the A's let him go. We'll be saved. Print em.

But..

Do you see Teahen and DDJ as unreplaceable, franchise type guys then?

No but they're hardly the two biggest problems we have.

I know you didn't say anything about Scutaro... pete did... that was the original point. The two of them for a really front line starter or an Orlando Hudson type middle inflielder I'd do.

Yep. id be ok with that.

Especially if this team is out of it around the trade deadline. Id certainly look at shopping them.

I'd really hoped we'd be in a buying mode to add a piece or two for a playoff push this year but sadly thats not likely to be the case. If we are going to sell for prospects I'd much rather see us put up people like Guillen (even though I've defended him before), Buck/Olivo (if anyone would want them), Davies/Ponson/Hochevar (same deal), or Jacobs (since he's a one trick pony).

Just get us some freakin pitching, pitching, pitching... and a bat or 3 would certainly be great.

I really do think Teahen can be a nice player for a long time and he's worth keeping... IF we can get some better players to carry the main load like you said. His ability to play about anywhere and his attitude about doing it are worth a lot to me... you don't find those players every day. If he could ever get settled somewhere and have a better bat or two in the line up with him I really think he can flourish yet.

Oh wow...1 ****ing game.....

A catch at the warning track? Yes...that is all-star material there....LMAO

Just cause you are being a tool I will help you...

DDJ and Teahen are both easily replaced. Probably with guys already on this team. Meanwhile we don't have jack shit for a SS and Scuturo would be a huge improvement both offenseively and defesnively over what we have now.

DDJ went 0-4

Teahen had 1 good game at the plate and another error.

It's amazng we have lost our last 8 games prior to today with these studs in the lineup

Scutaro is hitting .297 with an .OBP of .397 and 39 walks and 27 k's.

Teahen .269 with OBP .333 and 16 walks 45 k's

DeJesus .233 with OBP .355 and 13 walks 35 k's

You are right... we would be silly to trade Teahen and DDJ......

Wow, I missed today drinking at the Hofbrauhaus. Good to see that we won, that Hochevar played OK, that the bats came alive for an inning or two, and that the bullpen did not sell the farm. This the first game in a while that I have not listened to. I feel like I had something to do with this, and I now know what I have to do. I will binge drink the German beer every day until the Royals lose again. It will be hard, but I feel like I am up to the challenge to help this team.

Name a single fan on this board or quote a GM stating that. The Royals mistakenly believed that DDJ's average would not slip by 60 points. The Royals hoped to use Teahan as a Bloomie type guy until our RF missed a month and 3B went out for the season, forcing them into the situation of having to use teahan full time at 3B.

Some of you fuckwits are so far removed from reality it's stunning.

Yes you are. I mean a .233 hitter who can catch 1 out of 4 balls at the warning track and a avg hitting, excessive K victim who committs almost an error a game are exactly what this team needs.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Nevermind Scutaro has more walks than DDJ and Teahen combined. And he can actually play SS. Well better than anything we have.

Bullshit. They forced Teahen into the lineup at 2nd base. That was the plan...remember. There was no utility about it. He was going to be a starter one way or the other.

I disagree there on AC. His bat has never been his problem. It is his defense.

That being said...this team has a woody for Teahen for some reason. Let's not pretend otherwise now.

The main reason AC was never the expected starter is that an organization cannot rely on him because of his off-field problems.

So you were on the Scutaro wagon in the off season? Or spring training? When exactly did Marco Scutaro become your obsession?
