Padres vs. D'backs

It went 18 innings.

The Padres were down 6-1 to start the bottom of the Ninth, but rallied to tie it on a Pinch Hit 3 run homer by David Eckstein (1st homer of the year).

It stayed tied 6-6 until the 18th inning when the Padres ran out of pitchers to use so they brought in their shortstop Josh Wilson to pitch. He got 2 outs, and had 2 men on when Mark Reynolds came up. He got him to a 3-2 count before Reynolds hit a 3 run homer.

The most interesting fact was that from the 10th inning on, the Padres were held hitless. Thats right, Nine innings of no-hit ball pitched by the D'Backs, yet nobody will get credit for a No-No.

18 innings??? how long did the game take to finish???

It started at 1pm west coast time and Ended at about 6:55pm.

So, almost 6 hours.

Another interesting fact.

There have been 4 16+ Inning games at Petco Park since the beginning of 2008, and there has only been 1 other 16 inning game in the rest of the MLB since then.

Crazy, 4 in one stadium, 1 throughout the rest of the entire league.

Do you think the Padres will keep Jake Peavy or will they end up moving him???

I don't think that they will find a deal that either gives them the right amount of talent in return, or that Jake Peavy won't Veto (Full No-Trade). I think he'll be a Padre for the rest of the year at least.
