Could've done that last time... we're going to be on Oahu.

For QuikSsurfer... http://www.konacoffee.com/catalog/kona-coffee-store.html

For Flopnuts and Kaeding... this stuff, right? (http://api.ning.com/files/1TLjgNP3*9MpFftwL2W32KcKvhoTEBHv4EEww9FAza623eYQ4JdkNg3EtFdy6GL7cClGzgDERO9OxqIMg06JCzX5*7x33yan/me100.jpg) Yeah, wish I could, but I can't.

Oahu. My wife was awarded an NSF Grant last year, and she has to present her findings this year at the NSF Conference, which just happens to be held at the Sheraton Waikiki.

Here is a little advise if this is your first time there. Be sure to rent a car (even if it is just for one day) and head to the North Shore, stop at the Dole Plantation for some pineapple ice cream, snorkle at Sunset Beach and eat lunch at one of the little surf towns up there. The hotel you are staying at is very nice and so is Waikiki Beach, but it is still in a big city and you will miss out on the "real" Hawaii. Of course you have to go see Pearl Harbor. Another neat trip is the tour to the top of Diamond Head. It is a sceanic hike (and a long one), but the views at the top are awesome.
Have a great trip.

Don't tour the Dole place, waste of time. Skip it, go to the north shore and the polynesian culture center (that place was amazing), also, tell your wife to wear a one piece in the ocean. I'm pretty sure some sailor has my swimsuit bottoms in his top dresser drawer at this point.

Have fun. We were there a few years ago and loved it. The pineapple is so good there, much better than you can get in-store here.

Before driving around ask your concierge if you are going to a good area. We were told to stay away from some places because some of the locals still protest Hawaii becoming a state, and they can be hostile. A GPS would be helpful since many of the street names look similar especially driving 40+ mph. If you are going hiking, tell your hotel where you are going in case something happens so they can find you.

The North Shore is cool with all of the big waves and artisan shops.

Do you own a dog or a cat? Dogs have bigger tongues and more enthusiasm. Cats have this irritating tendency to paw at stuff with their claws out.

Do they still sell pygmy slaves there? If so, I'll take a 6-pack.

Otherwise, I'll second the Polynisian culture center; it was pretty slick. Dole was kinda interesting but really only to the same extent touring the AB plant is.

Like I stated earlier. My wife received a grant from the National Science Foundation to do some research, and a condition of the grant is that she must present her findings at their national conference. We didn't pick the location of the conference. And I used frequent flyer miles for my ticket, thank you very much. Hotel is covered. I don't see the joke.
