Rain Man

I'm not familiar with him, but if you want to talk about someone who made the rounds of TV shows, and often bad TV shows, this guy is hard to beat.
His name is Frank Aletter, and he apparently died recently. The photo is not one of him actually dying, but rather is from a scene of "Murder, She Wrote", so maybe it was his career dying. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0018173/

This guy was in EVERYTHING! He got the full 1970s trifecta of Mannix, Cannon, and Kojak, and he even threw in Colombo. He was not just on Three's Company, he was also on Three's a Crowd. Love Boat and Fantasy Island? Got 'em both. He was with Jack Klugman in Quincy and Tony Randall in Love, Sidney - didn't even take the easy route with The Odd Couple. He supported minority causes with What's Happening, and women's issues with Maude, and racist issues with All in the Family. He not only got the Six Million Dollar Man, but also the Bionic Woman. Matlock, The Golden Girls, and Murder, She Wrote for the senior crowd. . My god, he not only got M*A*S*H, but he had Hello, Larry! Hello, Larry! Think about that, people! Not just Dallas, but also Falconcrest. Got an emergency? He was on Emergency, and also CHIPS. And SWAT. Need to know the birds and bees? He was on Love American Style and The Facts of Life. My Favorite Martian and Planet of the Apes for you science fiction buffs. Police Woman and TJ Hooker for those of you who like seeing Angie Dickenson or Heather Locklear in uniform (or William Shatner, I guess). If you need medical help, he was on Marcus Welby. If medical help arrived too late, he was on Quincy. (Okay, I got that one twice. Sue me.) Need to figure out why medical help arrived too late? He was on Simon and Simon.
And perhaps most amazing is that in almost every case he did one episode and then never returned. The shows where he did five or more episodes are shows I've never heard of: Insight, It's About Time, and Bringing Up Buddy.
This is truly an amazing career.
