Greinke on the mound....
perhaps we can score more than 1 run for him tonight???

I'm betting that Greinke gets hit around a little bit tonight.

Why do you say that?

Why do you say that?
Guess.
He's had high pitch counts lately, and Chicago, historically, has hit very well against him.
Couple that with our bottom three consisting of Hernandez, Maier, and Pena, and I can see Greinke pressing b/c he realizes he's not going to get shit for run support. Tonight's lineup is even weaker than normal.

I haven't looked at the lineup yet but is Hillman seriously running Pena back out there? DOH..I thought you meant Pena Jr...I didn't pay attention

No, you're right. Pena Jr.
Bloomquist was a late scratch b/c of a family emergency.

Tonights line up is the worst lineup on paper I've ever seen
DeezNutz
07-03-2009, 06:13 PM
Like to see a replay of that. Looked like he was out.
And it doesn't matter as Olivo shoots him by 5 feet.

That was like Major League funny.....he slid and never even came close to the bag

1-0 Sox....game over

07-03-2009, 06:40 PM
Nice to see Jacobs foul out to the 3rd baseman.....again
petegz28
07-03-2009, 06:49 PM
JFC!!! Not only did the shift backfire, which you should never play with 2 men on anyway, AC makes a fucking error!!!
2-0 Sox
petegz28
07-03-2009, 06:50 PM
3-0...Sox
Should have been out of the inning but Hillman overusing the Thome shift and AC making an error........FUCK!
petegz28
07-03-2009, 06:53 PM
2 of those runs have to be unearned.
Royals have now tied the Mariners for the most errors in the league (60) and have committed 29 errors in the last 29 games

Why no Teahen tonight?

Yep, this one is over. So Sad. Of course it was most likely over when they scored that first run as the Royals cannot score against a lefty. Fucking losers.

I'd like to know what Moore and Glass are thinking as they watch this shit. We've, yet again, put an absolutely embarrassing product on the field.
Have they made excuses and fooled themselves? Something along the lines of "being plagued with injuries"? Or are Moore and Glass taking responsibility and diligently working to try to improve this sack of shit?
petegz28
07-03-2009, 07:27 PM
God damn Jacobs sucks!
petegz28
07-03-2009, 07:29 PM
I don't think I have ever seen anyone as bad at the plate as Jacobs.....TPJ don't count.
petegz28
07-03-2009, 07:29 PM
And why is Teahen out of the game?
DeezNutz
07-03-2009, 07:47 PM
So if we pull Greinke with only 80-some pitches, which is the correct thing to do, why do we not handle Meche as responsibly? Huh, Right Now Trey, why?

Same reason Teahen is on the bench and Jacobs isn't

I'd assume there's nothing wrong with Mark?
If so, this is inexcusable, given Jacobs' splits.

JAcobs could not get the ****ing ball out of the infield at all tonight

Hernandez has 2 hits tonight...TPJ should never see SS again
petegz28
07-03-2009, 08:21 PM
LMAO...bases loaded, 1 out and we hit into yet another DP......
petegz28
07-03-2009, 08:35 PM
And another DP
petegz28
07-03-2009, 08:37 PM
And Jacobs manages to get the ball to CF on a pop up to seal the shutout for the Sox.....
Royals have hit into 8 DP's in the last 3 games

810 just ripping Hillman on benching Teahen, even after Bloom was scratched and running Jacobs out there
DeezNutz
07-03-2009, 08:49 PM
This team is going to lose 100 games this year, and this is remarkable after an 18-11 start.

Hillman basically just said he threw in the towel when he pulled Greinke....
and that he pulled Greinke because of the "accumulated innings" Greinke has pitched......
This guy is a total moran
DeezNutz
07-03-2009, 08:54 PM
Jacobs hitting .195 this year against LHP.
He just cannot be in the lineup against a lefty. No excuse for this. Anyone not named Pena Jr. is a better option.

maybe teahen got the balls and told Hillman how much he sucks

Jason brought up a good point...
Payroll:
07 $68 mil
08 $58 mil
09 $70 mil
so we really only increased the payroll $2 mil
DeezNutz
07-03-2009, 09:01 PM
Remember that last year Dayton said we needed to draw 2.5M fans to have a payroll of $75M. Embarrassing.
Please don't pay attention to all the money we receive in revenue sharing, though.

Someone needs to point out to Dayton that you won't ever draw 2.5 mil when you field a crap team

Drastic changes have to happen at the deadline. This current roster cannot and will not win shit. And I'm about to go fucking ballistic the next time someone talks about getting a "bump" when Gordon and Buck, fucking John Buck???, return to the lineup.
Give. Me. A. Fucking. Break.

Kinda. Just talk about where the "help" might come from. Not really being hopeful, just more despair and wishful thinking.

This is amazing. 33-48. From 18-11. They are 15-37 with the rotation they have?
Just embarrassing. Heads need to roll.
