nice play, dejesus.

this team needs to go through basic training and learn how to play the game of baseball. they don't even have the basics down.

thurman merman
07-08-2009, 05:21 PM
greinke needs to prove that he should start the all-star game.

since he's already given up a run, he needs to pitch lights-out the rest of the game. and get a lot of strikeouts.

Yep..lobbed it to the SS instead of throwing it to 2nd where AC was standing with his arms up

thurman merman
07-08-2009, 05:24 PM
What did DeJesus do? Let me guess: miss the cut-off man?

he just lobbed the ball into the middle of the infield on a single, instead of throwing the ball to second base, and the runner went to second.

And I really, really hate it when Fever does his Baghdad Bob impression. Fever, you Glass ball licking fuck, not all of us are stupid. DeJesus should have known what he was supposed to do with that ball since he was 12.

Our roster is laden with players with a ton of LOFT (lack of fucking talent). Instincts fall under this umbrella.

You're not. Avilles was a big risk and a big bust. So was Jacobs. We got the raw stick with Coco. All we can hope for at the moment is that Billy continues to get better and Gordon starts living up to some of the hype.

Nah I only bitch about guys they could have signed. Adam Dunn playing for the Nationals means he would have signed with the Royals.

When he was the Reds' GM, Bowden drafted Dunn in the second round of the 1998 amateur draft.

"We started something in 1998, me and Austin and Jim, and we never got to see it out," Dunn said. "And hopefully now ... we can somehow jump-start this team."

Asked why his once and future teammate chose to come to Washington as a free agent, Kearns said: "He knows Jim. He has a relationship with Jim."

I want to see a top tier FA turn down a shit ton more money to play for the Royals. This is a bad example, but let's say a Matt Holliday gets a top offer of 12 per on a 5 year deal from a contending team. Would he turn down 16 per to play for the Royals? An extra $20M.

This is the kind of offer we'll need to make to land a top guy. Balls ****ing deep and take the risk. Again, not saying Holliday is that guy, just an example.

I'd like to see Juan Uribe and Andre Beltre targeted as the top prospects.

I'd also target , Figgins, and possibly see if Johnny Damon or Magglio Ordonez might be interested, depending on price and demand.

Ordonez is playing less than stellar this year and might come cheaper than some might think, I doubt the Tigers pick up his option. I wouldn't spend much on him, but if he comes relatively cheap, he might be worth a look.

Johnny D. would give us depth in the outfield and give us a better bat than DeJesus, if he comes at a decent price, he's worth a look.

Beltre would give us the big thud the team desperately lacks, but price-tag could be a big obstacle. Either he or Figgins would the "money" pick-up.

Uribe is a no-brainer to me. He's a scrappy player and has a good glove. He's also decent with the bat and would upgrade the position.

We need to spend at least $15 million next year and become a team that can compete with anybody. We're close, but not close enough, we need at least one more stud in the line-up and upper-echelon gold-glove type up the middle to help the pitching. We get that and relegate a couple of the starters to quality back-ups and I think we would be well on our way.

It sure would be nice to get the best FAs available for a change.

Good news for Greinke. Perhaps the Royals can parlay this into some widespread positive press.

i love zack LMAO

from the kcstar regarding tonights game...
“That’s probably the first bunt hit off me all year,” Greinke said, “which was stupid because it was a terrible bunt. I don’t know how I missed it. … It’s a double play if it’s caught.”

The result instead was a single that moved Anderson to third. Ramon Santiago followed with a sacrifice fly to left.

“Just stupid stuff,” Greinke said. “I thought it was a big game because if we can finish strong (up to the break), I feel like we’ll still have a chance.”

He's a quirky dude, but he's also a more intense competitor than almost anyone else on the roster.

The only good thing about this travesty of a year is that he's locked up.

Ok guys, apparently it hasn't been announced that zack is the starter for the AL All stars...apparently he is the 'favorite' or should start according to buster onley, i only caught the tail end of baseball tonight. Sorry about that the mix up...hope it happens. I hope last nights start didn't cost him...apparently he is 3-4 with a 3.38 era in his last 10 starts...still enough to win more than that.
