Kuwait is particularly insane.
Russia's trajectory has been one of the most varied. And it's nice to see India dig their way out of shit.

I'm leary of something that uses GDP as it's a flawed statistic manipulated by politicians. Not that the thing has no value at all. I just don't get how it's a history of economics of this world. I looked for something that did that but I'd expect a narrative instead....something along the lines of:
People lived in filth and mud and suffered frequent death from starvation until the Industrial Revolution where things only kings could afford were made available to the masses because of mass production leading to cheaper prices that more of them could afford. Things like soap to bathe more regularly and a change of clothes when people wore the same thing most of the year. Eventually technology made their lives cleaner which led to longer lives as well as producing more food. So much so that during this period Eugenics became popular in order to figure out ways to get rid of some of them. etc. etc.
watch the progressives go bat-shit crazy because the Industrial Revolution is what harmed the masses per them. Nothing could be further from the truth.

No I said progressives. True liberals are small govt conservatives and right liberatarians. They are not lefties. But yes, progressives as in leftists of sorts ( big govt types) have frequently maligned that era. In fact that's the rise of the progressive movement at that time. Ya' know for the "people."
