This has been Obama 'bitch slap' thuggery Chicago politics since he has been in the WH. Think McArthur,Patton,Ike or Bradley if they were alive would be sittin on their hands with all this corruption and Marxism going on?
The American people have fallen asleep for decades to the tune of "politics as usual" why bother? Now some, not all ,but some are starting to wake up and truly smell the coffee. What remains to be seen, as the rest of the country wakes up will it be too late to reclaim our lost liberties and freedoms? If not then will the American people be "too afraid" to take their country back because of the "Liberal Majority Communist Press" and of course "Big O Marxist tactics" of retaliation.
It is now time for "Our Generation" to defend and take back our country from 'within' sad to say. But in reality, there have always been "usurpers" who hate our country and have wanted to derail our Constitution and liberties but the difference now is we have a "usurper" in the Oval office, "Literally". Think I am being over the top here? Not for a second, look at the actions not the words. As the ol saying goes "Actions speak louder than words".

Kind how they got into power isn't it. Off of Bush's failings, which were there to exploit, but do they really have anything to offer?

Hold onto your hats for more, always exciting, anecdotal evidence.
I was at a dinner party last night with an overwhelmingly conservative bunch of people. Somebody made a comment about Obama. (It might have been me, but I'm not sure.) One of my friends pointed at another guy at the party and said, "Be careful. We've got an Obama voter right here." The Obama voter told him not to rub it in and admitted that he had made a stupid decision.
It's kind of a recurring theme. 6 months ago, people were shouting from the rooftops about how proud they were to have voted for him. Now, people only mention it when put on the spot, and then they get sheepish and apologetic.
This isn't everyone, or even the majority of Obama voters, but it's a significant minority.

Looking back, what was so bad about where we were in 2006 that the Dems were able to sweep into power? Compared to now, that was serendipitous.

It will continue to grow as more money (our tax dollars) are yanked out of private hands or printed out of thin air and given to state and local gov'ts so state union jobs can be kept and added as more and more of us (Private company) workers are laid off. You see, the reigning gov'ts goal is to squash private companies and expand union membership and gov't. Just look at the supposed 14,000 NY teachers whose jobs have been reportedly SAVED while many more than 14,000 American non-union-gov't workers are being laid off.

This is a Republican thing. Conservatives are used to being in power, and when they're not this is how they talk. I heard it with Clinton, now I'm hearing it with Obama. What is that you ask? "The American people have fallen asleep for decades to the tune of 'politics as usual' why bother?" Followed by a rant on how we need to take the power back.
Why is it only relevant when a Democrat is in office? I just didn't hear this during the Bush administration and I can't figure out for the life of me how you guys weren't this angry about his spending practices, let alone his willingness to strip so many civil liberties from you in the name of what might happen to you if he didn't, aka, fear mongering.
What the fuck happened? Were you all really scared? Did you buy full on into the obvious fear mongering by almost the entire Republican party? What was so different then?
I just hope at some point people stop focusing on Jon & Kate + 8 long enough to take a good look around them, and the quality of their lives. Then sit down and talk with their parents long enough to realize that theirs was much better, and required much less.
We're being raped by 2 parties who are playing us against each other on emotional triggering issues, while funneling our money to the richest people in the world. If you lined up 1 person from 10 different social classes ranging from the poorest of our poor to the richest of our rich, 1 person would have as much money as the other 9 combined. That's not right.
And when the system that supports this type of indirect slavery collapses on them? They funnel out the little bit that's left to give the same people a head start on recreating the entire system again. But fuck yes, let's focus our energy on public smoking bans and our carbon footprints. It's all about priority.

You are right it is a conservative thing because we know the Dem party has been hijacked by the "60's radicals" for quite some time and they mean business in instituting Marx who they worship(see Obama's first 6 mos.) and now with damn near total control they are close to doing it. Conservatives are the only ones that take the "Constitution seriously and will stand up to this BS. Progressives on both sides see the Constitution as irrelevant and only give lip service and this is why as you say we are being raped by both parties I agree.
I have mixed feelings about Bush. I was and am still angry about all the spending, prescription drugs, amnesty for illegals and the original stimulus bill. I know he is not a true conservative but he did keep us safe. The wiretapping as much as I hated giving up that privacy right I really feel we did and still do need that ability for "unique times". But these "unique times" have only culminated because we have soooooooooooooooooooo much flack from the "Hate America love Marxism crowd" that will apply Alinsky rules in a heartbeat and with the "communist press" in their pocket, Bush and Cheney had to come out and get a law made to avoid all the hassle; when in reality the covert"dirty shit" that needs to be done should 'never' have to be exposed regardless when it comes to protecting our country. And I assure that 80-90% of Americans agree with the "covert dirty shit" as I am sure you do as well.
As far as wealth, yes there is corruptional greed which is the 'weak link' in a capitalistic society. But I would much rather error on the side of greed having the freedom to vote out that greed and still have the opportunity to be financially successful as opposed to 'Uncle Obama' telling me what I'm worth. I have no problem with the 10th person being richer than all 9 persons put together as long as it was earned fairly. But I get your point about the fixed finanacial system due to greed.
I took a long sabbatical from this site and only have been back for a little over a year;otherwise you would have heard me screaming about Bush as well.

Speaking of ratios like 1 out of 10, Obama spent in 4 weeks what George W. Bush spent in the first 4 YEARS of the Iraq war. There was plenty of anger over Bush spending, but the relative spending by Obama is OFF THE CHART and the relative anger is reasonably greater.
