Who do you think will win?

Poll to follow

After listening to Berman's BACKBACKBAAACKKK, we all lose.

I assume most of you will take the Homer Pick, so I did too.

It will be even sweeter if Albert does win it, as I just found out I have seats 10 rows behind the NL dugout to watch it.

And if my wife doesn't walk in the door in the next 10 minutes, I'm going to have a fucking breakdown - I HATE being late to anything - much less something like this.

Gotta go with Howard. People back in there home city usually do pretty well in these things.

Anyway, to answer the question...

I'm obviously rooting for Albert, but I'm fully expecting Ryan Howard to win it.

Home-town boy who absolutely rakes at Busch.

That option is available by not clicking on the thread to begin with.

That was an incredible experience. I'll post pics tomorrow, only wish I had a better camera.

Busch Stadium could be open another 50 years and not see a ball hit anywhere near where Fielder put that 503 foot bomb, or where Cruz put that shot into the FOURTH deck.

Amazing.

Just think man, Bryce Harper can already hit the ball farther than Fielder with his $10000 special edition Easton. Haha. I bet it was fun as hell. That kid reaching and giving Pujols a homer was hilarious.

I love how espn is making excuses to why albert didn't win the HR derby, saying he interviewed all day and didnt have his batting practice thrower....

give me a break, give prince the fucking credit

I think they explained it pretty well during alberts second round. He is too good a hitter. What makes him a great everyday hitter is what holds him back in the derby.

He tried out for a pro team if I'm not mistaken. Didn't make it, obviously, but he can play.

I've seen Pujols in batting practice put one in the 4th deck about 10 rows up. I've also seen him hit one to center field that hit on the fly, just below the screen in dead center field. I don't know how far it was but they looked pretty good in person.

The longest I've seen in person, hit live during a game. They said it was 464 feet. The grand slam off the Cubs landed here:

There were two or three shots hit to the place you're talking about in center last night - they had a kid standing on the walkway above the grass and he was snagging them - about 470 feet.

Was everyone dissapointed because Pujols didn't light it up?

I wasn't after seeing him raise his leg to hit. Altering his swing, can't be a good thing. He can mash one tonight, live. Much better anyway.

Not terribly.

A lot of people around us were making comments about someone other than Albert or Howard winning, because those two would put too much pressure on themselves - pretty much exactly what happened.

I would have loved to seen the hometown guys win, but the overall experience was well worth it. The crowd genuinely appreciated every guy, and was even rooting hard for Inge to get one.

I wish I had been taking video when Cruz hit that shot into the 4th deck - the crowd reaction was priceless.

Last out of the 2006 WS, shutout in the HR Derby.

Albert had a pretty rough Sunday, too. A double-header on the road where he made a ghastly Bucknerish error in one game and went 0-4 in the other. And that was the end of a 10 game road trip.

I would have liked to see him do better, but perhaps he was just worn out.

I have the greatest boss ever.

Her daughter just backed out tonight, so I've been invited to go to the All Star Game tonight!

24 hours ago, I was planning on watching the Derby and Game on the tube - now I'm going to both.
