The Chiefs are bigger than who plays what and who runs the front office. After Marty split, Carl stayed, DT died, and Cunther then Vermeil took over; I lost interest.

I didn't care and I didn't watch, look, or listen.

I left KCMO after 20 years three years ago and I liked having a way to connect with home, so I started caring and watching again though it has sucked much ballz. I would like to care even more. I would like to see the team do well and win a Championship.

I'm not gonna' bail on the Chiefs, but I'm not going to tolerate long-term failure from whichever regime happens to be running the show in whichever decade we happen to be in.

I think that's fair, and I apologize if I did not make this clear before.

You know, I noticed that whole Dan Saleaumua thing you mentioned earlier, Mr. Skip Towne.

Anyhow, it gave me an idea ... Mr. Raised On Rats says he really, really, really is a Chiefs fan, correct? On the other hand, he's admitted that he really, really, really isn't. Plus, he's inadvertently said things that clearly indicate he is not a Chiefs fan and is, in fact, a big, fat, liar person.

So ... I say we conduct a pop quiz with Chiefs questions that are pretty easy. We have a time limit for each question of say .... 5 seconds to make it difficult to google up answers. Then, if he passes the test, he stays. Otherwise, if he flunks the test, he's outed as the poser he is, he leaves forever, and we have a brand new national holiday.

What say you to this most phenomenally awesome idea of all times?

The Chiefs had a player whose first name was Rain Man?

Better. But you're still reaching. Plus it's all out of context. To be truly humorous, one must always remember to think contextually. For example, since you post on a mobile device, you probably have small, stubby fingers. And, since you have small, stubby fingers, you are probably a midget. And, since you're a midget, you should cease posting and go get a job as a Christmas ornament on the Macy's tree. You'll be much happier there, it's honest work, and they'll pay you in fudge.

Yup and if Carl was the GM he would have given up the # 3 overall pick and not sign Cassel to a new deal until next season, Cassel would throw for 33 Td's and Carl would pay him 20 mil a season only to be the Dan Williams of Chiefs Qbs.

In reality, it's a lot of Clark's money but at least we know he's committed on a personal level and cares about fielding a winning team. That's kind of nice to be able to say for a change.

I agree with the underlined.

However, the backup QB, if needed, must be able to player more than 1/4 of one quarter before getting injured himself, thus eliminating Croyle from contention.

Croyle is no more an NFL player than you or me. It's not worth talking about, and serious discussions regarding him might be the most fruitless ones that Chiefs fans could have.

This is, unfortunately, very truish. It sucks, but Croyle just doesn't appear to have the ability to stay vertical. He really needs to start working on that Tuscaloosa car dealership, his golf game, and staying married.

He's one of those guys, though, that will probably keep trying until the bitter end. He'll likely get passed around the league a few times, wind up taking a few snaps here and there as a backup, and then finally retiring. It's sad.

Isn't the salary cap like $128,000,000 this year? Divide that by 16. That is $8,000,000 a game. So $625,000 a game for the QB is fine by me. I like the way this team is being built. And a little credit has to go to Herm.

QB - check
LT - check
WR - check
DE - check
CB - check
RB - check

A lot of the key components are in place. Will they all pan out to be Pro-Bowlers on an annual basis? Who knows. But at least the spots you need to build your franchise around have been adressed. Other parts need to be added to fill out the whole picture, but I like the start.

The only thing Herm gets credit for is sucking so bad that we got Pioli. We don't have any pass rushers the 3-4 D-ends are supposed to take on blocks while Vrabel & Hali rush the QB. That's not exactly Merrimam or Ware.

No offense, Mr. billay, but it was actually kind of the other way around, as I recall it anyway. Croyle had some accuracy on the middle- to long-range passes, but was far more inaccurate with the short stuff ... the dumpoffs, swings, screens, etc. Everything was either too low, too high, or too hot to handle.

If, that is, you're speaking of Croyle. Frankly, I don't really know what you guys are talking about.

Herm did trade up and get us Albert. And he got us Bowe, who I think will flourish as we go forward. Brandon Flowers looks to be a long time staple in the secondary. From what I understand, in the 3-4 your DE's have to do their jobs or your Merrimam/Ware's can't do their jobs. I just think the key parts to the puzzle are now in place. More pieces need to be added to finish off the deal, but I like the way it is being built this time.
