in Council Bluffs after the Sheryl Crow concert we attended(which was a great show by the way) we head for the casino to do a little gambling.

I decide I'm going to play some Let It Ride(thanks to CP for addicting my ass) so I get a hundy in chips and proceed to join in.First few hands not much,I get a 2 pair win after bringing back $10 and a pair of Jacks,so I'm all but breaking even when I get dealt 2-9's and a 6 and I decide what the hell,I'm going to Let It Ride.Well the guy next to me(for those of you who play you know it's common that the players look at one another's cards) says,"you going to let it ride on that and not take one back yet?" I tell him,"I can always take a chip back next card."

Anyhow dealer turns another 6 so now I'm sitting at 2 pair and Let It Ride is a no brainer. So we get around the table and the dealer flips the card revealing another 9 and a full house for Nzoner on a full $15 bet plus the $5 bonus and counts me out a nice $230 in winning chips.

Overall I came back home with $70 more than I took on the trip,so that was all good and it was a great weekend getaway.

Just wanted to share for anyone who gives a shit.

I had a high roller buddy who once won $50,000 in Vegas. I asked him about it and he said it would just about pay the interest on what he had left out there. If you play against Vegas for very long, you WILL lose money.

No doubt but it's still fun trying

You won $70? Well, better than nothing but man, I must be a degenerate then. I've lost $950 in one night before, and I've won $1200 one night too playing $2/$5 NL. Wish I still lived so close so I could play poker three times a week

Glad you enjoyed your trip to council tucky.

I'm funding a trip to vegas for Brideowanian with my poker winnings. I keep half for bank roll and stick half in the safe for her trip. Friday night, I brought home about 900 between poker, an hour of craps and an extra 300 from Old faithful in the $5 room. (i take 20-40 and put it into a $5 slot at the end of the night when I win for a swing at the fence.

I've been too busy to play much the past month but I'm around 1200 up the past 3 trips.

My self imposed 1 night loss limit is usually 2-300 and I set that for my bring home bench mark, but have learned to trust my gut when things are turning south.

U should try the video poker at Harrah's. My boss plays that and he hits a lot. Of course, I don't hear about how much he loses, he only brags about how much he wins.

That's most folks, but the casinos didn't grow out of the sand to LOSE money.

At brideowanian's request about 3-4 years ago, I started keeping a ledger on my win-loss so I know where I'm at at the end of the year.

If you gamble very much, I think its' a good thing to do, to help monitor losses/wins instead of guessing. Win-Loss swings will suprise you sometimes. I had a streak early in the year where I thought was wasn't doing to bad and then I looked...and while not big, it was more than I cared to lose. I've more than gotten that back, but I like knowing where I am in the big picture.

I saw a guy win about $35k on roulette in Tahoe once.

I saw a guy cash out $19k from craps a while back....but the way he was betting, I'll wager he was in deep when he lost.

I saw a guy cash out $3500 this weekend, but after he left they said he was bought in for $6k....so that wasn't as impressive.

It makes the relative peanuts I gamble with inperspective pretty quickly.

i'd play quarter craps all day and night. Just the $50 I'd care to go in with doesn't last very long at a $5 or $10 table. I like playing, just hate losing.

I last played BlackJack there before New Year's Eve and took away a couple hunny. The only reason I did was that they do the Poker side bet and I kept winning on that. I love that option, but never see it down here in TX/OK and there's only one spot in Deadwood that has it. It really improves your odds.

I went to Harrah's a couple Sunday's ago to play poker, they had a $1/2 table open, so I'm playing pretty tight the entire time because I was card dead. Woke up with pocket 9's in early position. I raise it to $15 and get 5 callers. Well the flop comes 2 9 K, I think 2 diamonds. I'm first to act so I best $50, get 1 caller. The turn is a 2, great don't have to worry bout that flush right? So I check, the guy actually goes all in for like a little over $200 more, I "insta-call" and he has pocket Kings.

Lost $300, that happens to me a lot. I seem to be the victim of coolers quite frequently.

Don't come to my table. I absolutely kill people on a regular basis. Definition of a house dealer.

I guess if you want to look at it that way,me,I consider food, booze, gambling etc. and I came home with $70 more than I left with.So I was quite happy.

I like the idea of the ledger, think I'll start that in 2010.

good story.

I always think how much better the Casino experience would be if all of them were located in one area instead of spread out. Walking distance from some common location.

Our airport should be near the city too.

I like the idea of the ledger, think I'll start that in 2010.

It's pretty simple and the truth is, after she suggested it, It was a good idea. It was nice to know exactly where you end up at the end of the year. My first year was +$4700. I wasn't as good about it last year so its' debatable but I think hundreds ahead, not thousands....Didn't gamble as much, didn't have a couple of nice hits on the $5 room on the way out.

It also helped when mama bear saw that I wasn't really losing my ass.

I've never had any luck with blackjack or slots but I've had incredible luck at craps. I'm guessing I'm 5k over the house and I'm not a guy that hits the higher stakes tables and I only get to the casino once every two years or so. The last time I played I followed my standard plan at a $5 minimum table. I started with $100 and once that's gone I'm done. I was down to my last $15 when the guy next to me went on a hot streak and didn't give up the dice for over an hour. When it was all said and done I left with $950 over my initial outlay. That was a fun hour and I damn near burst a bladder as there was no way I was leaving to piss in the middle of that run. I've never seen a run like that and probably won't again but it was fun to watch the pit boss at Binion's get nervous as hell.

Never played craps,if I'm not at the Let It Ride table I can usually be found at video poker,I love the bonus ace$ game @ $5 per spin.
