View Full Version : Music Priceless! Kurt Cobain is {Rick}Rolling in his Grave

We all know that the still-popular but amazingly annoying art of the Rickroll jumped shark a while ago (http://mashable.com/2008/11/27/rick-roll-2/), but we simply couldn’t pass up a new remix of “Never Gonna Give You Up” that the Interwebs delivered to us.
The music video remix, created by DJ Morgoth (http://www.myspace.com/djmorgoth) of Germany, combines the lovey-dovey lyrics of Rick Astley with the instrumentals of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” The beats and the lyrics match up almost perfectly. The video editing combining Kurt Cobain’s guitar prowess with Astley’s giant puffball of hair is just extraordinary.
It’s eerie just how well these two songs match up, and we have to credit DJ Morgoth on his excellent music mash-up skills. However, I’m pretty sure Kurt Cobain would kick our asses for enjoying this remix if he were still alive.

Ha. This is pretty good. No denying Rick Astley's talent. You would never expect that voice to come out of that red haired and bad dancing fool

Vast improvement over both originals. I always hated Nirvana.

Very talented dude that combined those. It is WRONG that he did that to a pretty good Nirvana song but hey... If you gonna get rickrolled that was doing it with style.

I don't know about that, though, Mr. frazod. Nirvana were groundbreakers. They took the repetitive 3-chord progression to the next level - the repetitive 2 chord progression.
Anyway, I don't think that Cobain would roll over in his grave over this deal. If he did, it would be so he could hear better. I think he'd like this idea.

I'd think it would be kind of hard to hear with his head blown off. :D
